What toys are out there that cost the big bucks, but people don't realize it?

For example, I've been told some Simpsons toys and Disney's Cars sell for pretty high $$$ sometimes. I never knew that. So just out of curiosities sake, what else is out there that's surprisingly expensive?

What about Family Guy figs? Or those weird Goth Chick dolls?

LDDs tend to be fairly reasonable, save for early dolls and exclusives.

That Family Guy figures even bring retail surprises me.

This was always my grail fig when I was a kid, I looked and looked for it at Toy stores always hoping to find it. It wasn't until I was an adult I found it is among the rarer TMNT figs and at this price I will probably never own it. (Unless I have that miracle thrift store find I'm always counting on. ;) )Heck I just wanted it because I thought it looked cool and I like dinosaurs and TMNT. I have extra regular Triceratons and I think I might make a custom someday because it's the same mold with armor added.

I do have this guy (still on display in my room) and he was one of my favorites, also didn't know he was hard to find till I grew up. Mine has a burgundy velvet cape I made from some scraps of fabric my mom had when I was a youngun'.

Living Dead Dolls. YOU brought them up.

Military Micromachines from 93-98 tend to bring a good deal of change, as do Battle Beasts.

Its the Power Morhper they held out in front to transform into rangers. A role play toy for kids. It even had interchangable coins to switch rangers.

I know but I didn't know what they were called. Much less what their acronym was. ;)

And that's a new one to me with those Micromachines. I didn't think any micromachines sold very well. Huh......show's you how much I knew.

Hot Toys predators. They jumped up in price so darn quick. Now they are out of most collectors price range, unless you get extremely lucky.

I sold an old metal lunchbox for my mom, one she had since she was little. Got over $100 for it. I knew there was a market for vintage metal lunchboxes but holy cats!

-Xevoz: I first picked a couple up because they looked pretty darn cool. And then I saw what some of the tougher ones go for (ie Tomb Wraith and Storm Wing)
-Most of the TF Alternators: shoot, nowadays even most loost Alt's are pulling decent $, many of those getting at least MSRP.
-GI Joe SDCC PDD: Those puppies skyrocketed practically out of nowhere
-There's also a lot of RPG stuff and video games that get some mad $ and I just have no clue why.

Don't know if its worth much now but.....
When my oldest son was two he was put in the hospital for a sinus infection. While there he recieved a Ty Beanie babie from the wifes aunt when she visited him. I thought it was a cheezy looking thing that didn''t even have wings. a few years later the wife got into collecting Tys and she found a picture on line of the same duck. It was the Original Quackers and was listed for $1200 bucks. Thats if it still had the tag on it. The tag was the first thing we took off when we gave it to him. Had I of known then that the wife would lose interest and that Ty was just a seasonal craze I'd of unloaded that sucker back then.
