View Full Version : ????Movie Masters Joker Variant Question????

I heard that there is a Movie Master's Joker variant. I've been trying to find a pic online but with no success. Anyone here have one or can post a pic/link of one? I think the variant has smeared makeup with dirt on his face. ?

If this is true, I'd love to see one. Thanks in advance!

I'm sure the make-up varies from figure to figure.

The Batman variant was announced and is pictured on the packaging, so I'm sure if there were a Joker variant they would have done the same.

All the MM Jokers I've seen have a level of inconsistent make up. I don't think there are definitive variants... not yet at least. Sounds like a ploy for eBayers to bump up their bottom line.

I checked ebay and I haven't seen anyone claim they have this variant yet, but I have read a couple of threads here where people have mentioned it. I'm just curious if it's true or not.

The only chase is the Bruce Wayne head. There are variants for the Goons though. But they're just in the form of the evidence bag masks.

$12 for these figures is a little much. Far as I know, no Joker variant. If not, email Hasbro.

I have one with a smeared makeup face, seems like poor paint control as opposed to a variant. I'll post a closeup pic on Monday night

I know for a fact that it's an actual variant. The package also doesn't list the Thug variants...
The only chase is Bruce Wayne.

I've been trying to get to a camera to photograph mine, but I've had no luck. It's not a makeup inconsistency when one toy has several different paint tones. That isn't an 'accident'. I've seen very few of the 'dirty' versions.

So the movie-accurate action figure is too scary for kids, who'll beg and whine incessantly until their parents give in and take those kids to see the movie with the same scary-looking clown in it . . . :D

Makes no sense. Just more hype.

i dont think they are variants...just different sloppier paint jobs...

I really hated the look of this movie esp. the batsuit but i think these figures are great and translate really well into figures!..oddly enough esp. batman!

i did want to repaint joker and slap a little white on the neck to make it look more natural and dirty up the white and stuff but i think i will wait until i find another.

And I thought Easter was over!

I just got back from Walmart where I was hoping to find some new figs and there was pretty much nothing for me. But, then I was walking down the "Hot Wheels" aisle and something caught my eye. I noticed a bat logo peaking from behind some larger scale die cast cars. I take a closer look and there is a Movie Master's Batman looking at me. So I reach back to grab him and notice a couple of others laying down. I carefully pull those out from behind the cars, turn them over and low and behold .... it's a Joker and a Thug. Shweeeeet! I completely found someone's stash. HA!

1) lobbies. they exist.

2) they already have federal laws regulating product advertising to children. For instance, if you have a cartoon on tv, you can't advertise your toys during the cartoon's timeslot if they are based on the cartoon's franchise.

3) there are lobby groups from the FCC putting pressure on politicians to push hard on toy companies because of Transformers and other violent PG-13 movies that have toy products. Batman is one of them.

4) it happened to video games(Tipper Gore). It's not something I just made up.

Sounds like you found one. In toy manufacturing, there are a set number of paint aps that they can use per budget. The calibrated machine will only use those tones and in that exact amount... The less common toy having black smudges in the face makeup isn't just a factory condition, it's an actual variant. It requires human intervention to product that sort of variation. The best way to explain it is to take the clean version that people have posted in this thread and rub black ashes all over his face. That is the most obvious difference. The lips also look closer to orange than red and the hairline will be less even.

looks like :

A) the Scarecrow vs Bats 2-pack is a TRU exclusive (don't know if the Joker vs Bats one is too)...

B) S vs B set has the new Batman Begins version of 'ol Bats...so this will be a way to get 2 of the 3 figures in series 2 before they come out seperately...
