OT: My ebay account got hacked into!!!

man luckily i caught it before any damage was done.....but my question is, has anyone had this happen to them before? and if so what would these guys do with your account? are they taking accounts and placing false bids or selling?

They sell items and have the funds go into a paypal account and clean it out as fast as they can. They sell mostly electronics.

Mine was hacked some months ago by someone selling a motorcycle. They claimed it was a ebay test and to let it run its course, & take no action against it.
I dont think so! I emailed him under another account, got his email address & reported it to ebay.
I nailed the guy dead to rights. He was not very bright. ;)

I change my passwords on lots of sites with anything personal almost monthly.

That sucks, I used to use the same password for all of my accounts, then I realized my (incredibly stupid) error and changed all of them. The funny thing is, you hear this all the time but never expect it to happen to you.

Mine was hacked. Ebay banned me for it! They said it was for my safety. It was a few years ago, and I have never used eBay since. The site it not safe, and not worth the effort. The last two things I won on it, I never recieved anyway, one guy took months to give me a refund.
