Most of the time, a kiss is just a kiss in the stands at Seattle Mariners games. The crowd hardly even pays attention when fans smooch.


But then last week, a ******* complained that an usher at Safeco Field asked her to stop kissing her date because it was making another fan uncomfortable.
The incident has exploded on local TV, on talk radio and in the blogosphere and has touched off a debate over public displays of affection in generally ***-friendly Seattle.
"Certain individuals have not yet caught up. Those people see a *** or ******* couple and they stare or say something," said Josh Friedes of Equal Rights Washington. "This is one of the challenges of being ***. Everyday things can become sources of trauma."
As the Mariners played the Boston Red Sox on May 26, Sirbrina Guerrero and her date were approached in the third inning by an usher who told them their kissing was inappropriate, Guerrero said.
The usher, Guerrero said, told them he had received a complaint from a woman nearby who said that there were kids in the crowd of nearly 36,000 and that parents would have to explain why two women were kissing. "I was really just shocked," Guerrero said.

I think the Mariners usher was correct in asking them to stop I mean you go to a ball game to watch baseball not make out. If you want to make out get a hotel room.

There are kids in the crowd? Ok they're watching a game that is full of steroid users, and the every so often bench clearing brawls. But two girls kissing might be bad for the kids? Seriously, people need to quit *****ing about everything.

They have all the right to kiss, it is not illegal for two people of the same sex to kiss. I have no problem with homosexuals at all, it is their life, let them do what they want. These same people probably think it is "sinful" for same sex couples to get married.

Where in the original post does it say they were removed?? All I read was that the Usher approached them and told them that their actions were making others uncomfortable.


As far as straight vs. homosexual couples go at least for me it runs the same for both. A random kiss is fine but from what I gather from the story is sounds like these 2 ladies were in it pretty hot and heavy and if it was a straight couple in the same situation I'd feel the same way. I just don't think public places are appropriate for hot and heavy making out regardless someones sexual preference.

I completely agree. Honestly, it was very un-American to ask them to do that. Same sex couples should have the exact same rights that different sex couples have, including PDA. I can see being upset about excessive PDA, but it doesn't sound like that's the case here.

anyway how many straight couples make out during ballgames...I believe I have seen zero unless you count the kiss cam...

the usher definetly isn't wrong if someone else complains. i'm sure it was some elderly woman or some extremely uptight church goer who is disgusted by things like this. if the ladies were groping each other, that's definetly a little over the top for a baseball game (while you're in your seats, anyways). if they really weren't, then there's really nothing bad. if someone complains, you need to handle the situation
