Way OT: Which hand do you use to open jars?

If you're right handed do you hold the jar with your right hand and twist with your left? Or the opposite? What about if you're left handed?

I'm right handed, and I hold the jar in my right hand & twist the lid in my left.

I think it's because usually, the jar is bigger and smoother than the lid, so it takes a better grip to hold onto.....

Except I think part of the reason is also that after you open a jar, you proceed to do something with it, like pour out its contents. This way, it's already in your pouring hand.

But what about things like Penut Butter or Cheezewhiz, where you don't pour it? Then you'd have to switch the jar to your non-dominant hand, so you can use your propper hand to use the knife to scoop with....

This is the funniest thing I've read today!

I alternate. I consciously remind myself to use my left hand as much as possible because I'm more accustomed to using my right. I'm even learning how to write with my left. Brushing my teeth with my left is a bit tricky, so I've postponed that endeavor before I poke an eye out. ;)
