In 2009 Jakks loses the WWE license to Matel but will pick up the TNA license as well as UFC.


New pictures released of the prototypes. Of course Dana will have his figure released in series 1.

These are due out 2009:

Some other notes announced, lineups will be 6-10 figures per wave. 2 Packs will be introduced as well, real scale octagon playset as well.

Also hinted that they can do PRIDE figures as well because Zuffa has the license as well.

Mattel?? Hahahaha can't wait for the Ken UFC figure and Barbie Ring Girl figure.

Mattel hasn't a made a collector quality product outside of the Barbie line in decades that I know of and HW's don't count because that's diecast not collectible figures.

Jakks is doing the UFC figures.
Mattel is doing WWE starting 2009.

I still don't know how I feel about these. That Dana looks nothing like him and there is way too much articulation on the Liddell. I wish they would go with a solid upper torso like the WWE figs.

They suck. Jakks is total garbage. That about sums it up.

There's no need to have 736 points of articulation on these figures. The only people that would make use of that are little kids who play with figures, and little kids frankly have no business watching the UFC.

Its a shame Mcfarlane couldnt land this license. Those look horrible.

What's really a shame is that McFarlane didn't have enough foresight to make a real strong push to acquire it in early 2005, before it really blew up. Even then, it was pretty clear to see how popular it was about to get, with a tv show about to debut and ppv numbers consistently starting to hit numbers that previously maybe 2 shows out of the year at most would reach for Zuffa.

The price got driven sky high after the explosion, and Jakks was simply too desperate to let it go, with them losing the WWE license.

Hahahahahahahhaahahahahhahaahhahahahah. Soooooooooo bad. You couldn't pay me to have this fig in my collection.

The others have decent face likeness. It would take much to make some nice looking customs out of these with a little sculpting. I like to logos on the shorts too.
