Hey, Everyone!
Today is Shadow Tuesday! The Red Sox did a lot of guessing at the plate last night, thanks to Dan Haren:D. Let’s see you guess who this is at the plate, from an upcoming MLB Series!

That’s all for today! Let’s go to Joey “Hi, where do you live?” Ferstl for his update…

Man, did Haren look awesome last night. Probably the best guy picked up in a trade in the off season. Man I wish we had a Haren on this team.

Yeah, after seeing your post and looking it up, it's Boggs. I was just about to post that same pic. :D But now I'm disappointed that it's Boggs and not Musial. :(

Better Brett than another Red Sox or Yankees player. Royals could use some more figures but they don't really have anybody to be excited about.

I hope so, Wade Boggs does absolutely nothing for me and I've never said that about a CC figure. Unless it was in the "classic" Devil Rays uniform then I'd be all for it. :D

Sorry, it was wishful thinking. I didn't look at it close enough, just the stance looked like something from the era.

Sweet. I've been wanting Brett for a while. I really hope they do him in the baby blue uni (w/ "Royals" lettering, not "Kansas City"), but it will probably be in the whites.

Mark has said that Todd likes putting the players in 'colored' uniforms if at all possible, unless they are matching a historic moment.
This also means we are getting 2 Royals players in the next Cooperstown line. Crazy.

Wow, you're right. I totally forgot about Bo. You would think with both deals in place, they would just sit on one of them and wait for the next series. I'm thinking maybe Brett was the guy they had to pull from Coops 5, and that is why there are 2 Royals. You're also right about Todd liking more colorful unis whenever possible, but now considering there are 2 Royals, I am sure one of them will be in the all whites. I hope it's Bo.

Bo would look very sharp in the all-white unis. Brett needs to be in the blue unis with grime and dirt all over him.
I also would be more inclined to believe Bo was the guy pulled, because his contract would have been in the works for the NFL lines.
Doesn't it seem odd that when they announce the Cooperstown line in the next 3 weeks, they'll already have the sculpts done?

Yeah, it is a bit odd. I guess they wanted to wait to announce it with one or two of next year's series all around the all star break.
Another thing that's odd to me is that there was no "Call Your Shot" poll for next year's 3 MLB series, unless I am just not remembering it.

The last CYS I remember was the Fingers vs. McCovey.
The funny thing? If Fingers had come into the league 1 year earlier, his insertion into this series would give us 3 Kansas City playes (Fingers - Athletics, Bo/Brett - Royals.)

I don't ever buy any of the Cooperstown figs, but I will most likely buy this one. I was a huge Brett fan growing up. Just loved how he played the game.
Now TMP, get on the ball and make a Tony Gwynn already!!!!!!:mad::mad:

It's Brett. The shadow fits his stance to a T, especially the pic you posted of his statue. Boggs was more upright in his stance and he ****ed his back elbow up more.

if not Boggs now, can we lobby now for a Yankees version then when it's time :p

I think that is overthinking it personally, but whatever. The image titles are meant to give it away, but also to throw us off at the same time. Just by looking at the stance in the shadow, you can tell it is Brett. Boggs' stance was fairly similar at some points in his career, but it was never quite like that.

They haven't announced any of them yet. They will though, some time around the All-Star game. But the shadow last week looked a lot like Jackson and the name was doubledip.
