The girlie has found a new place that she wants to go shopping, a mall in Auburn Hills in Michigan. My question to the boards is this: Is there anything else in the area to do? She wants to go for a couple of days, and I really don't wanna spend the entire time at a frickin mall!! Are there any good places to eat, places to see, that sort of thing? Are there any other shopping centres so I can drop her off and do something exciting? Any help is really appreciated.

Hey Maxx, I been to the mall in Auburn Hills, I believe its called "Auburn Mills". Its a copy cat of the Vaughn Mills with the same layout and almost the same stores. There are some resturants in the area and the basketball arena. There is more to do in downtown Detroit, about 1/2 hour away.
It's called Great Lakes Crossing. It is huge, full of what are billed as less than full price stores.
There is a movie theater in there and restaurants. There's other restaurants in the area, including a place called Big Buck Brewery, where the food and locally brewed beer are excellent. Not much else to do though. The Palace is nearby, but basketball season is over. You might check their website (Palace of Auburn Hills) to see if there's a concert worth seeing either there or at the DTE Music Center which is outside and also nearby. It's run by the same folks so it will all be on the same website.

Big Buck Brewery is no longer open in Auburn Hills.
I live about 10 minutes from this mall. With regards for things to do, if you are a golfer, there is a nice driving range golf shop on the corner. That would be a good way for you to kill some time while she shops around. Qutie honestly, the mall is nothing special and I dont think you could spend more than a half a day there even if you are a serious shop-a-holic.
If you want to go to a nice meal, you could go to Kruse and Muer's in Lake Orion (about 10 minutes from mall) or go to downtown Rochester which has several nice resturants in a compact old downtown setting. There is a Kruise and Muers there as well. For really good Irish pub food, I highly recommend Gus O'Conners in downtown Rochester. Here are some links.

Another great place to go is The Clarkston Union. It is an old church in downtown Clarkston that was converted into a bar/resturant. Excellent beer selection here and the food is really good, they are known for their mac n cheese. It is a really unique neat setting, but it can be loud inside. This is also only 10 minutes from the mall and is real close to I-75.

Its funny whenever a thread like this comes up, I think of all these great places to go eat. But when my wife and I decide we dont feel like cooking and want to go out, we can never think of anything.

I was going to say Big Buck closed down. A damn shame because that place was great.
As far as the mall goes as Jerlem said, the mall is nothing too special. Yes, it's big but nothing makes it stand out from other malls.
As far has food, their is a couple good places inside the mall that are pretty decent. Miyako Japanese Steakhouse and Stir Crazy. Then you got your basic Chili's and On The Border in the same area as the mall. Then a few minutes from the mall you got Applebees, Olive Garden, and Montana's.
Like Jerlem said, downtown Rochester is always a good option too.
