Ok, ok; the dust has settled a bit for me. I completely missed Shadow Tuesday. But today I come bearing gifts!

And I will retort with, yes they are, but these shadows belong to a particular licensed product. And USA Today will be breaking the license announcement with photography tomorrow. I noticed there are a couple solid interleague pitching matchups tonight. Aaron Harang and Roy Halladay take the mound this evening, as well as Randy Johnson and Tim Wakefield. Halladay makes the start despite leaving the game prematurely last week, after a line drive went off his head! Should be a solid duel in Toronto! For those of you interested in catching the D’Backs/Red Sox rubber match, it will be on ESPN2 at 7:00 P.M. E.T.

If this turns out to be Guitar Hero figs and if this is going to be reported on major news outlets and MTV and such it may draw more kids and newcomers into collecting, which would draw them to this site where they may find more figures that catch their attention and make some purchases.

Guitar Hero is the #1 game franchise right now, by far.

That being said, figures for it are still stupid.

McF seems to be going after these 'A' list properties, but it doesn't seem like anybody who is into these properties buys figures.

Hey believe me...I think it sucks too. IF it is GH I won't buy any of them. Why? I'm just not into those type of video games or the figures that would come with it. However...you can't refute the fact that GH was and still IS one of the hottest video games out now. If McF could capitalize on some of its fame by getting figs in TrU and Gamestops etc. and make some $$ on the side by getting them to fans of the game then what's the harm?

Yea, WE may get the shaft on cool figs in the short run but if GH figs sell well and the extra scratch is used toward future lines WE like then I'm ok with that. My wallet could use a break anyway. :D

Well I still hope its BioShock. I would like to see McFalane's take on the Bigdaddy designs. I'm not a fan of the game, never played, or bought it; however, those Bigdaddies have a cool creepy factor to them.

Exactly right. You notice I used alot of "ifs" in my post. I love LOST, have all the DVD sets and such but I didn't buy a single figure. Maybe it's because I didn't need a crazy eyed Eko staring at me all night who knows :D

But GH is a video game. Toys and video games can go hand in hand in some cases. Can you see where the correlation is? "Kids like the video game...maybe they'll like the toys FROM the video game." Plus if it's covered by alot of news outlets (do you remember any ads on tv for the fantasy line?) it may garner more attention than just putting the figs out there and HOPING that the right people notice and buy them. If the line falls on its face I wouldn't be too surprised either.

But we are making alot of assumptions. How bout we wait to see what the line really is and then bicker about it? :D
