When you buy figures do you...

Get the whole series or just a few that look good to you? I only ask because a friend of mine got every figure to the latest spawn series, but he said their were like 2 figures from the series he really didnt like, but still got them so he could have the whole series. Do any of you buy figures that you don't like, simply to have the whole series? I find that to be silly imo.

I know, right? It's 6 out of 8 figures suck @ss and an awesome BAF.


And for the record, I used to buy whole series, but then I realized that it was silly and now just buy what I like, unless of course the series is like 10 figs and I love 9 of them, I'll buy the 10th.

Depends on the series. Usually just get the few that appeal to me, because the rest are just bad repaints.

It depends if it a small series probably (like transformers masterpiece line and transformers revoltech). If we are talking about something like the transformers movie line then no. But there are situations where you can have a large series and pretty much every figure is good (Alternators I'm looking at you).

The main focus of my collection is Spawn. For the most part, I have liked every figure that has came out, so I attempt to buy the whole series. I bought all of S.34 and I'm currently working on filling some holes from earlier series that I was unable to purchase at the time of release. This level of interest is really quite fun for me, as I like to complete what I have started and it suits my personality to be neat and have things in order. Call it "OCD" if you will. ;)

I guess it depends really. I buy every Marvel Legend that comes out but only so I get the dang BAF...others I buy what I like. Some of the lines out there have way too much to offer and let's face it...I have a limited budget like many. Plus my wife hates when I buy toys...thats why I have an awesome part time gig that nets me free toys...makes married life easier!:D

Depends on the series. Usually I will just buy the characters I like, but sometimes that will mean a whole series.

When it comes to spawn i only get the ones i like. I didn't get the last spawn series cause i didn't like any of them (No Offence) and as far as series 34 goes i'm getting everyone but manga spawn 2. aside from spawn figs the only figs that i have half a set of are castlevania :D

I only buy what I like. Occasionally I might make an exception for BAFs, but that's only if I only have to buy one or two figures I don't like.

But with ML baf sets, I ended up with so many trash figs its a sin.

I only buy what I like, so if it's a whole series it's a whole series. If it's 1 figure, it's 1 figure. The only completist tendencies I have thus far have been with the Halo figures and we'll see how long that lasts before I stop buying the X variant color or Y armor.

I can pretty much bet that I'll get all the Campaign figures, though.

Such a difficult question. It all depends on the line. I only buy the Spawn figs I like... but all the Halo figs look so good. I would like to get them all, but the exclusives are a bit too much. I might just stick to the set from spawntoys, from now on...but I would almost rather just sell my regulars and stick with the legendary figs.

Exactly. Why waste money on figures you don't want in the first place? If something has a cool BAF, I'll buy the figures I like and try to find the other pieces elsewhere. It's very rare that I'll find a series where I like every figure.

9 out of 10 Xs I snag the whole series (Spawn, Hellboy, anything Monsters........)

Marvel or DC -I'll just buy the one or two guys I want~

I only buy what I like the look of, I'm not into collecting entire lines and I never will be, but I can understand people who collect entire series getting figurines even if they don't like the look of 'em.

With stuff that comes out lately, it's almost impossible to like all the figures they release in a line. I can't remember the last time i saw an entire series that i liked (i think maybe since Spawn classic comic covers).

As most boardies have stated, It depends on whether I like all the figures in the series or not. If I do, it's a done deal. If not, I simply buy the figures that I like. Just a couple of days ago I purchased series 34 with the exception of Manga Spawn 2. I just didn't feel like spending the extra cheese on a figure I didn't care for, even if it would've completed the series. I do have quite a lot of series completed, however with other companies putting out some great products, my collection habits have ventured off to other manufacturers through time, as well. The habit has become a bit more expensive for me, so I simply concentrate on what I like nowadays. Yes, I still buy complete series, but again, I must like them all to do so.

The last complete series that I bought without liking any of the figures was LCBH PITT series. By the way, I got each figure on clearance so the damage wasn't too bad, emotionally:D After putting PITT together, I felt is was very well worth it:)
