I live in Orange County Tustin/Irvine. UPS always leaves packages on my front door and there area always these adolescent kids hanging around my house.

Got a window that looks out towards the front steps?

Set a cam corder up to a VCR and slap in an 8 hour tape and hit record before you leave.

Have a friend show up half an hour later with a box full of garbage ( so it has weight) anbd see if you catch the little ****ers on tape.

Borrow a different firends car ( so they won't recognize yours) and park up the block and follow them home, then call the cops.

Pictures are also fine, and possibly better if your camera will let you zoom in and get clear shots of their faces (both pics and vids would be even better), but sitting in your neighbours house woin't let you find where they live....

Unless you have someone else sitting inside the front door of your place, so you can talk with him on a cellphone, and he can run out and grab one of them.... ( but that could open a lawsuit knowing todays dumbass court system.... :rolleyes:)

Get a container you can pressurize, load it up with that stink bomb **** and leave the package out (WITHOUT YOUR NAME ON IT!) for them to find. I promise you, the little ****ers will NEVER steal your **** again.

And, you know, you could always blow them up or rig up a bunch of shotgun shells on a compression plate or something.

Aside from the fact that UPS should really be the ones held accountable, that really sucks. Keep an eye on eBay for your stuff, too... I know it's a long shot, but kids do some pretty ****ing stupid things.

This is a good idea. We caught a guy at work this way.

I'm sorry to hear about these kids. My UPS is awesome, he walks all the way around to the back of my house and leaves the packages next to my door, so most people can't see it. I really need to give him a Christmas gift or something. He could easily be a ****** and leave it in the front of the house like USPS *****.

I would sit their with a bat and as soon as they walk up on to the porch i would swing that door open and beat the living **** out of them but thats just my opinion :D

I live in central Los Angeles and my mailman was good. Always tried to catch me or left a notice to pick up. Then suddenly she changed route and we had a real d.i.ck of a replacement. He would just leave packages in the front and NOT even ring the bell. I left a notice right where he left the packages to STOP doing that and to ring bell/leave notice. Even with huge type he still left packages. Eventually I did have a missing package and complained to the post office.

Sorry about your lost package. Like it was said, set up a sting. You should throw something in a box and mail it to yourself. Hopefully the UPS driver leaves it like always and then the kids steal it from the door. With a video camera set up and catching their face, you are golden. Take it to the police and they will arrest them. It's a long shot but hopefully they will surrender your missing package. Good luck and report back if it works.

My ex did it before, we lived in the more ghetto section of town, and a bunch of little hood kids were throwing stones at her car, she flipped, got in her car, and tore ass chasing them on there yard, it was funny she nearly ran them over, and almost ran into the apartment of there family.

People in my development think I am an undercover cop or some sort of detective because I drive a white p71 Interceptor Crown Victoria. It has the push-bumper, the spotlight, the lights behind the grill and in the mirror covers.. LOL.
I am new in my area, so no one knows what I really do. Packages sometimes sit at my door for a day or more, and nothing ever got stolen...

Well I only have a P&S camera and DSLR. I don't have a video camera. I was looking into spy camera's, but don't know which ones to go with.
