I was just wondering if any other Toys R Us stores were putting out old NFL figures? My wife called me this morning and said the Toys R Us by us, in Spartanburg SC, just put out NFL figures. I am not sure which series it is, she saw S. Smith, A. Gates, S. Alexander & L. Johnson. I thought this series was like 2-3 years old.

its old stock that gets lost in the distribution centers, then found, and then gets shipped out to the stores.

ah is there ever NHL old stock???
it seems during inventory they always seem to find old stuff hiding around, i have found figures that were 2-3 years old that were obviously stashed by an employee, covered in gook and grime and put on the pegs. i remeber a few years ago i found a bagwell chase,an nhl s-2 figure, and a few others.also im sure theres old cases of every sport in the distribution centers still, just waiting to be found.

Same thing here in NY. They got a few cases of NFL 14 (regular price $10.99) and a bunch of Brian Westbrook (Clearance $5.50).

It did seem like an odd case. She said there was no R. Bush or T.Polomalu figures. Hope they put out some more older figures!

i went to a TRU in bridgewater, nj and they had a bunch of NFL 14 figs. mostly larry johnson and steve smith but they also had series 4? 3 inch mlb figs like beltran, varitek, ortiz, wood, and griffey.
so needless to say those 3 inch baseball figs were gold for me.:)

TRU over here had some old NHL legends, misc. hockey and MLB 19 for $2 on clearance. Employee said they found a box of figures hidden in the electronics office. I bought regs of Pujols, Papelbon, Damon, Pettitte, Kazmir and Pedro. Not bad at $2 each. They also got in a case of NFL 14, too bad they're still $10.99.

Interesting that things like this can make it through the filter, considering some of the ridiculous stuff that does get censored.

Nothing special, I'm not a big hockey guy, but from what I remember they had some Legends from the series Clarke was in and regulars from the series Forsberg Flyers was in.

jeez toysrus must hat e hockey to selll them that cheap wat a deal
I don't think so. They were just hidden for so long that they are just marked down in the system lower and lower as time goes by. They are in the system as in stock, but weren't actually on the floor. When an employee found them, they were marked down 80%. This isn't the first time. I bought a case of NHL figures at a penny each like 3 years ago. Some openers, some still in pretty good shape. I spent 12 cents and traded all of them for NFL and MLB figs and sold the rest for like $5 a piece. Those figures had like an inch of dust on all of them. The employee wasn't even going to sell them to me. She said that when they go that low, they are suppose to return them to the warehouse to be disposed of or donated.

Yup, same thing happens in most big stores. Stuff gets left in the back room for whatever reason, and over time it just gets marked down further and further in an attempt to sell it off. Eventually it reaches penny stock, at which point it is supposed to be disposed of in some way.

Some of the Utah TRU's have been getting the old football but someone must have picked out the chases. Reg price too.

TRU is so screwed up. Why didn't they put those clearance figures back to $10.99 instead of $2? They clear out NFL 14 a year ago for $3 each, then get in new cases of NFL 14 and try and sell them for $10.99 each. What the hell is wrong with them?

if you want older series figures, just be patient enough for TMP to reproduce them :D
I wouldn't spend any more money until they re-release NFL5 brady's, then I will continue to wait until they go on clearance for $1 each :D

12 cents for a case of 12 nhl figures WHERE DID U GET THAT
TRU Fairfield in California. They closed that one though. Like I said, they had a bunch of figs stacked on top of a shelf in the board games section. I asked the lady if she could pull them down and see which ones they were. I was looking for any MLB or NFL. Some started scanning for 99 cents. I didn't care for all the NHL, but was just curious to see what an old Jagr would ring up at. It rang up for a penny so I checked all the figures up there and bought anything that was a buck or less for trade bait.

Other than finding a case of SP'S that fell off the truck on the highway, 12 cents is probably the best score I've ever seen in my life. They should have a statue erected in your honor!

Thing i hate is this old stock of NFL is on sale online but not in stores(thinking it's because of their super clearance deal going on) I would have bought 3-4 of the steve smiths around here if they were half price...Notice how he already sold out online yet Gates and Johnson haven't....

I figured they would be on sale also. I went today and they had 3 in MLB and grabbed like 8 of them, thinking they would be cheap....nope 4.50 each. So I only grabbed a couple. You would figure all old stuff gettung dumped would be a little cheaper.

A couple months ago my TRU got solid cases of Staubach, TO, Romo and Vince Young.
Then we wonder why TMP says Cowboys sell. I guess if they dump enough of them out there eventually a few will be sold.

The local TRU just got a case of NFL 15 in for $7.98 each, plus 20% off, chase was gone.

I think the figs that are marked down to a penny at TRU are not supposed to be sold, when I worked there, those items are supposed to be sent back to the warehouse (for what reason, I dont exactly know)

Old figures everywhere! I went to WalMart to get some paint today and went by the toys section and they were moving everything around and I see an old MLB figure and 2 Nascar figures....I thought it was a J Thome Phillies, nope a S Rolen Phillies Retro from 2003! The lady at the register rang it up at 9.78 and the register told her to type in the price and since it was all dirty, no dents, she put in 7.00.

I don't think all these cases at these prices are coincedences. Or that TRU just happend to find them all over America either. How about all these cases appearing right after the "big" warehouse sale???? I think TRU got a call as well and took old stuff off Todd's hands. Why not put it on the web and let us in on some of the better stuff at these crazy prices rather than chasing around the TRU's?

I went back to the TRU today to see if they found anything else between the cracks. The Clarke and Perrault(did I spell that right???) were 80 cents now. The Forsberg from NHL 12 I think was $1.60 That's all they had left. I didn't anything. I'm going to check another TRU because I know they had tons of Hockey the last time I was there. I just bought the MLB 19 stuff and didn't bother checking on those figs when I was at that one last week.
