What can Brown destroy for you today? Iron Man haul!

UPS... ah... where do I start. They suck. I will buy from other sites even if I have to pay more for USPS, just so I don't get stuck with them as a shipping service. (gave in this time just to get IM early) I won't bid on ebay auctions from sellers who only use UPS either. Why? Am I overreacting perhaps?

And that was through the huge layer of bubblewrap that BBTS wrapped the package in. On top of that the box had two large 'Fragile. Handle with Care' flourescent orange stickers on it. It's like UPS purposely destroys packages that say fragile, so I'll be asking that those not be put on any further shipments. Fortunatly IM the figure was fine regardless of the massive damage his package sustained. He's also one of the coolest Iron Man figs I've ever seen. Great articulation, design, a blast cannon that swaps to either arm, 2 energy blasts, and a positionable take-off base! Paint apps could be more detailed but meh, that's Hasbro for ya.

They're a bit shorter than S6 scale, taller than Cult Classics, and way taller than ML. So some weird scale, Mego maybe?

They were once just statues. Now they're the same scale but with added articulation and a base, kinda like the statues had I suppose.

But jeez, UPS does horrible jobs with boxes labeled "Fragile". Way back when the AVP:R figures released in their first wave I pre-ordered the whole set. In comes the box from UPS, marked "Fragile" of course. The box was ripped open (tape removed), and two of the boxes ( the open mouth variant Predalien and Warrior Alien ) were DECIMATED, crushed and ripped. Much like your Iron Man box...The figures were alright, thank God...

This isn't the first time people have made post about UPS horrible handling, i've seen many threads about them but i haven't had a problem with them for many many years *knocks on wood* i guess it depends on the ******-bag you get handling it. That really sucks but at least you were opening it anyways

About the articulation, he has double-jointed knees but just single-jointed elbows. However he has 'inner universal joints' just like the Halo figs for every part that allows good range of motion while being concealed for the most part. You may have to line them up often however because everything spins. The shoulderpads restrict his arms from being able to raise straight up but you could remove them and mod them on tabs like his hip-plates.

Also if you yank his head off it it will fit on a Batman Armory figure!

I've actually had worse problems with shipping figures via USPS than UPS. That Iron Man figure survived the thrashing that box got, and that's what matters.


Now go repaint that thing in metallic colors and add plenty of LEDs and magnets!

On the flip side......... for larger, more expensive items, I will ONLY use UPS.

Fed Ex bends you over and removes your spleen through your taint if the item is over 5 pounds.. and USPS's tracking is "Uhh.... well... we delivered it.... Not sure where..... or... uhh... who signed for it..." :(

When I ship a guitar or amp via UPS, I double box it, and within 15 minutes of delivery I know it's been delivered and who signed for it.

I would say UPS is more like a FREIGHT company, so little boxes get bonked around... where as the mailman is delivering letters and small boxes.

You have every right to be upset. You should of told UPS your situation though they could have helped. I work at ups as a package rat, and I can honestly say that most damages happen because of the way the shipper packs the items.

For you guys that talk crap about UPS, all I can say is you have no clue what so ever what these poor guys go through every day. Most of the Part Time Jobs are so Physical, and stressful at UPS it takes a speacil kind of Human to do the job. I unload 1200 to 1500 packages a night that can weigh anywhere from 1 lb to 145 lb. I have to do this within 2 hours 15mins to meet the deadline so the semi's and air trucks pull on time. This is the job I prefer because it is one of the easier ones:eek:. I lose an average of 2 lbs a day because of sweat, but I gain it back after I eat dinner at midnight! UPS gives the empolyees water bottles every so often so we don't have to stop work.They do this because UPS is on this huge time clock, and when one semi pulls late it will cause a lag in the system. I can easily say starting out at UPS is harder than any Two a Day Football practice I went through in High school. I have gotten use to it because I have worked there so long. But is always sad to see new guys start working. I feel bad for them, because they struggle, and I know if they struggle they can get canned before they make it to the Union. All iam trying to say is before you say UPS or Fedex sucks you should consider how rough the job is.


I totally understand the troubles and hard work that some employees undergo at UPS. ( my uncle used to work as a truck loader ) But I really do not think that most of the damaged packages are due to how the shipper packs an item. I've got several greatly packaged hauls from UPS. Most of the time, UPS is a great delivery service but there's still that tiny 20% of the time that irks me...Like tape being ripped off of a package? That's insane! :eek: I bought two Marvel Icon figures from an Ebay seller whom I had no problems with before and he always put a ton of packaging tape on all of his items for some reason...One day I get a knock on the door from the UPS guy. I take a look at my package in awe from the tape CLEARLY being cut with a sharp object right down the center of the strips. It's not the entire company/workforce of UPS but some workers at UPS really suck...

* The delivery guy said the package could have gotten caught on something during the shipping process...I wish I had a picture to show you guys, it looked like someone literally took a packaging blade and slashed right down the middle of the package. That's an oddly accurate tear... *

I understand the work UPS loaders and dock workers go through. My friend Dannon use to work with them. I also understand the 'don't give a ****' attitude and had to put up with the UPS teamsters way back when. Perhaps UPS should just change to freight, heavy stuff. Because almost all of my smaller packages have been damaged by them.
