Custom Mighty Muggs (updated progress pix 7/30/08)

Getting a little impatient with the release of Hasbro's blank Mighty Muggs (It kinda sucks that they're listed at $9.99 without art work on them) so I decided to create my own. Don't have a clue what I'm going to design once it's blank. Using poor Luke as a base. If you have ideas throw them at me.

I think that's a little too messy. I'm just going to lightly sand it to give the figure some texture for the primer.

The removable hand might work rather well as the base for a Right Hand of Doom. Customize him into Hellboy. :D (Or even into Wink from the current movie, for that matter.)

and yes, the blank muggs should be cheaper than the retail muggs with licensed characters on them. If they were more like $6.99 I'd get a few to try out

I used the Luke for a base for one of my customs, not realizing the saber doesn't come out of his hand. Removing that sucker is hard. I had to cut it out with a X-acto and file the hand down smooth. Good luck.

As far as ideas, Hellboy would look sweet. And with some apoxie sculpt, it wouldn't be hard to do.

I know, it's beginning to be a little tougher that I thought. Might have to SNFU Luke as the base, but we'll see. By the way your Green Latern looks pretty good so far. Did you draw the logo on his chest or use a decal?

Thanks, yeah, its a decal. I've trimmed off most of the white around the logo since I took that picture, so it looks a little better now. Muggs are surprisingly difficult to paint. Every paint stroke shows. Which reminds me, I have to fix that left boot line.

Didn't realize his lightsaber was molded onto his hand. I tought it was glued. Ended up slicing the saber off with an Exacto blade. Now to smooth down the inside of his hand with my Dremel.
