You know, everyone always says that (about the previous high-end figure) until the next 1/6th Batman fig comes out. I find it funny. :)

I agree that it is "good." But it doesn't blow away the Takara Bats. However, it definitely blows away the Medicom and previous Hot Toys Bats.

The suit is better, as is the articulation, though. Other than that, I just don't see how it's justifiable to pay through the nose for him if you already own the Takara version, as the face sculpt (not the cowl, that part is fine, I'm talking about the flesh part that comes out of the mouth of the cowl!) is not as accurate as people think it is. Honestly, it's like the sculptor said, "Hey, I've always wanted to make a Keaton Batman figure, so let's make Bale's facial features a bit too pronounced."

If the face looked like the real life image of Bale on the front of the box, I would agree that it "blows" away the Takara version. As it is, it doesn't look like that. It looks about like Sideshow got their hands on the sculpting job, honestly. They're notorious for overpronouncing facial features.

I've also started to notice one more thing about the Hot Toys head, it seems too thin. The Batman Begins suit had a good thickness to the cowl.

I was speaking to the newfound Hot Toys Dark Knight figure fanatics/noobs in general. ;)

First everyone went orgasmic over the Medicom Bats, then it was the last Hot Toys Bats and then it was the Takara version (which WAS a good figure). Now it's the new Hot Toys Batman and everyone's saying "oh it's accurate to the nose," but they're missing the part about him looking like he just had some botox work done. Honestly, I've seen a thousand odd pics of the man in that suit and NONE of them looked like that facesculpt does. So... it's not completely accurate. In my honest opinion, most of this "blows other figures away" type mess is mostly just the "new" starting to kick in. You know, the "new toy on the block" syndrome.

I think it's kinda funny when the Movie Masters figures almost look more like Bale than this high-end collectible does. It's rather amusing actually. Hell, as bland as the first Medicom Batman's facial features were, IT looks more like Bale, lol.

I thought Sideshow went too far with the overexaggeration of Padme's features. I think the Hot Toys Bats blows that misstep out of the water though.
