Yes, absolutely!
I sell Nicorette Gum, and Nicorette Commit lozenges. Used to smoke for years. One Sunday I am watching TV, thinking - Let me try this stuff and see if it actually works..

3 days later, I forgot what cigarettes were! I swear to God. The first day I used a gum every hour. Next day switched to the lozenges, and went from every hour to 2 hours or so. Third day it was like every 3-4 hours. Fourth day, I was smoking-free!

Try them. Worth every penny.

Your doing good so far just don't kick any puppies. Try to keep your mind off of it like maybe hunting for some toys or seeing a movie. In any case just stick with it.

got some lozenges at my disposal, but i keep thinking, "wait.....don't i want to NOT have nicotine in my system??". it seems counterproductive. but it's good to hear that it worked for you, so i'll give 'em a try if i need something to fall back on. thanx.

Don't even fight it. Whenever you feel like a smoke, just pop a lozenge instead. It does sound weird , the nicotine consumption, but it works.
If you stick to it, next week same time you are an ex-smoker, guaranteed! I would swear by those gum and lozenges now!

I've been on the lozenges for about 2 weeks and it's great to take care of the cravings and remember nicotine isn't bad for you... smoking is.

Congrats on deciding to quit smoking. I never got into it heavily, so I can't offer any quiting advice. But some reading materials say it's just like every other habit, and the best way to get rid of one habit is to replace with another. :)

yeah, i never really smoked more than just over a 1/2 a pack a day. before i decided to quit i was down to about 7 cigs a day.

i'm thinking about taking up knitting, but it doesn't seem that fulfilling.....

At least for me, the patched used to leave my arm bruised and give me the most WICKED vivid dreams if I wore them while sleeping.

during the day i'm fine for the most part. before i decided to quit i could go for 8 hours without a cigarette. but for some reason when night rolls around the urges kick in. ESPECIALLY when drinking.

if you've kept up with this crazy thing called "science" for the past, oh, decade or so, you'd know that lungs - surprise, surprise - actually heal.

madness, i know! :D

I'm not too bad though I don't think, I just hope if I decide to quit it won't be too hard.

Same here.

A pack or so a day for 8 years....then they increased the price once to often, so I finished the pack I had, and never smoked again.

Everytime you have a craving and give in, cut off a finger using a steak knife. I bet you won't smoke that 10th cigarette.

I still smoke, but I did quite once. Yeah...it didn't stick, I guess.

Anyway, if you're not using the nicotine gum, then get some regular gum to chew on, or maybe a box of dry cereal. Munching on it and grabbing a handful from the box gives your mouth and hands something to do.

See, for me, just the back-and-forth hand motion is an ingrained habit, so anything that keeps both you and your hands busy is good.

I'm glad you stopped smoking. Please keep it up long enough that your sense of smell returns and you find out how utterly ****ing disgusting you smelled while you were a smoker! It's always nice to partake of what you once inflicted on the rest of humanity. Justice and all that.

Aside from that, I wish you the best in your continuing effort to not literally set fire to your money and pay $5 a day or more to kill yourself. It's always nice to see someone take a deep breath and decide not to be stupid anymore!

Good luck!

good luck!! I was a 2-3 pack a day smoker for around 30 years. quit 2 years ago, and I still want a cigarette every day. stick with it, it is worth it. I was told I would have emphasima within 5 years if I didnt quit, that was my inspiration.

I just quit about 2 months ago so good luck man. The first week is the hardest by far but even 2 months later, I still want to smoke even now but its not as often and not near as hard to stay away as it used to be.
I did it with the patches but I chew regular gum like a maniac now. at least it won't give me cancer I suppose
hang in there

I quit back in January...I smoked for 10 years a pack a day...I took it as a challenge. I got my mindset where I was like, I started this crap I can end it too! I use absolutely nothing as well, you just have to view it as it would be a major disappointment to give in...it took a solid 2 months were I felt like alright I got this. I even short after put myself right there with smokers to really put myself to the test. It's now 7 months and I haven't touched a cigarette...one of the best moves I ever made! Oh yeah and I don't weez anymore!!

IT IS POSSIBLE.

It's been almost 5 years since my las cigarrette (I used to smoke one box a day).

What worked for me: DON´T GIVE ONE SINGLE SMOKE, don't taste it, don´t breathe it... just NO.

Your Avatar is smoking!!

I know. Ironic, isn't it? I don't approve of his smoking either. But, seeing as how he managed to con three different Hell Gods into taking his soul, thus forcing them into a war that would destroy Hell if they ever tried to collect and thereby insuring that he lives forever, I really can't be too down on him about the smoking. In my honest opinion, he really earned the right to smoke.

Now I'm curious about your avatar. Who is he and where can I read this story. I'm assuming it's from some type of novel.

Thanks. This synopsis of the real Constantine is much more intriguing than the Keanu Reeve's movie.

Yeah, but then you live longer and end up in a nursing home where some 6'4" ex-con steals all your figs after having his way with your poop chute every night. *lights up*.

I smoked for 16 years and quit cold turkey. It sucked at first but after a few weeks you get used to the sucking. You'll be tempted more times than you can count. Tempted by your own mind. It's a hard thing to say "shut the hell up mind!!". But in the end you will have accomplished something most people find too impossible to do. Making you a bad ass!
