View Full Version : So, like... what do we have to do to get some HALO vehicels?

And I'm not talking about the tiny ones that came out when the first series debuted. I'm talking the same talk that's been talked about before - scale vehicles for the 5" HALO figures.
How about a Warthog with spinning wheels, working steering wheel and a rotating minigun?
Can we zip around in Banshees or Ghosts, please?
It's been a long time since McFarlane has done something "BIG" in scale and this would certainly do it, as well as please many others around here.
How about this idea? There's quite an assortment vehicles to produce, so how about including a BAT? Build-A-Tank. Huh? Why not? Producing a M808B Scorpion MBT would be too big and too expensive to sell by itself so maybe McF can do us fans a real solid favor here and include sections of the Scorpion with each vehicle?
We can dream right? Anyone else?

I LIKE IT! And i already asked Joe about it in the Update, he hasnt answered, so ill just ask next update. (great Idea for the Scorpion, but i would probably take time to figure out how to ut it together properly)

Well you could suck Todd's...
I kid I kid.
I wouldn't mind some vehicles too. But I unno how the BAV would work. Might be too complicated for my small mind to comprehend. But it's something you should run by Joe. As well as the extreme need for weapon packs.

Sorry guys, Saetan is even Begging for them, the goat doesnt work. (I sacrificed three and all i got was a sobbing Saetan on his knees yelling WHY! and he did ask todd twas going to take his soul if he didnt, but Todd kicked his ass when Spawn came and saved him.)

Nah, not too complicated. The Scorpion could be split into six section: the wheels/treads (that's four pieces right there and they're all the same pretty much), the ****pit and the turret.
Sacrifice a goat? I can't get my hands on one of those. How about an old, grouchy cat?

With the line selling really well, and having the support of both Wal Mart and TRU (wouldn't be surprised to see Target come up on these at some point either) I would almost bet a vehicle of some sort is in the works.

With the line selling really well, and having the support of both Wal Mart and TRU (wouldn't be surprised to see Target come up on these at some point either) I would almost bet a vehicle of some sort is in the works.Agreed. This line will continue to sell well with any retailers that have these figures. So giving us some vehicles to compliment this massive assortment of figures should be highly considered.
Maybe my idea of a BAS is too much but McF needs to do some catching up with the trends of todays toy industry.

Just keep buying more figures, maybe thats why they cancelled the rest of the vehicles after series 1, I would bet they will do a Ghost and a Mongoose first as they are the smallest and use those to test the waters, and see how they sell. After that a Worthog is likely with a Banshee, after that who knows. They know we want'em and with the way halo is it wouldnt make sense not to, why would TMP go to all this trouble to make great figures and outdo joyride and not make vehicles. I really want a in scale scarab, and some scaled frigates and cruisers would be nice.

I like the emphasis on the word "strong".
I know it's a stretch but maybe you can covertly slip my idea for a BAS into someone's product proposals?
A McF production manager going through his folder of HALO vehicle proposals*
"Ah, normal day at work trying to figure out how we can profitably produce HALO vehicles so the boardies will stop hounding us. La-dee-dah..."
The production manager hears his door creak open and looks but only sees a shadow quickly slip in and out. Suddenly a gust of wind rushes in and his HALO Vehicle Proposal Folder flies open violently.
"Was that Joe.F?"
He looks down at his open folder and sees....
"A proposal for a Build-A-Scorpion Tank? Wow. This is an awesome idea. How in the hell did this get in here?" ;)

No prob Joe ha ha.
I think they'd do Hornets and Banshees in the same series so you can have your Spartan flying the Hornet and an Elite flying the Banshee dogfighting each other. That'd be cool. A scaled Scarab would be way too much money. The hero clix Scarab was over $100. Imagine how much a McFarlane scaled would be. You think the new AT TE or Falcon are expensive? Ha, see if they bring that out. I don't know anyone who would pay the money for it. Plus how would you open up the inside and show the figures in there?

You know what's funny? I actually had him on the "ignore" list shortly after he appeared. However I lifted that ban shortly after because I liked laughing at the posts! :p
I'm kind of on the fence about vehicles. Well, actually. No I'm not. A spartan on a Mongoose would look great! I can understand why they're taking so long though. Getting a model that would fit both Spartan and Elite body types would be a modelling nightmare.

You really think that TMP would exploit the different "skins" for the vehicles? So that there are different figures for every minor variation, even something as insignificant as a minor pallete swap? Waitta minute...this sounds familiar. I'm sure an idea like that would never fly.
I had the chopper on the list, but I did forget that Covie turret vehicle. If you want to get into Turret specifics you might as well bring up the Gauss cannon variant too. Who knows though, maybe once a vehicle shows up the flood gates will open.

Pelicans are like Scarabs. I doubt they'll do it. Too big, too expensive, and you can't really use them in the game. You ride one every so often, but you don't use them like you do everything else. That would inclue a Covie drop ship (their pelican, forget the name) if we were getting into that kind of territory.

I think you mean this:
Human:

-Warthog (Gauss)
-Hornet
Covenant:
-Ghost
-Brute Chopper
-Prowler
-Banshee.
And they could do a limited edition Heretic Banshee for covies, and a Civilian Warthog as a limited edition one for the humans.
The limited one's could come with two special weapons according to the race (Civie warthog would have a Rocket launcher and a Chaingun turret, Covenant one would come with a Fuel Rod Cannon and a Plasma turret,).

As for a Scarab, I wouldnt be surprized if its in that upcoming "Heroes Collection" of smaller figures, it would still be huge, if we were lucky enough to get an inscale scarab to the regular figures, I would suggest a BAF one like what you guys said about the scorpion, but it would have to be an internet exclusive, so that MCF doesnt lose money. I can't see walmart selling those well, also it wouldnt have to be taken apart for figures unless you are doing the halo 2 version. If they did it that way, a BAF Scarab, that is released over the course of a year or a 2 years and you buy piece by piece would you guys go for that, in fact a year should do it, you won't need specific legs, just by a pack of four, and release the main body in two parts. One thing I really would like to see if figures with the vehicles, I always hated not getting a figure with the vehicle, it would be great for the UNSC ones, just put in some marines.

I really doubt the chopper will allow the Brutes to sit in them. The articualtion on their legs are not meant for it. It would be badass for the spartans though.

Play around with your Brute Stalker legs. They're actually more minuverable then you'd think. But whether they would still fit thats the issue.
And I like that big pic of all the vehicles. Looks cool, and shows us what the differences are.

McFarlane better make vehicles. If HotToys can make a tumbler and batpod to scale with a 12" batman McF can make some scaled for 5" figures. Even if the warthog costs like $30-40 i think everyone would still want it, and most of us would buy it.

If they did do a scarab, they have to do a Elephant.

the worthog in scale should cost about the same as the 12 inch, right around 25, and maybe even if were lucky 20.

I'm going to guess that nothing bigger than a Hog is ever going to be produced. Almost gonna guarantee it, but there's always the small chance. I'd expect Hog, Ghost, and ATV is the extent of what we get.
Maybe a Chopper, but wouldn't count on it.
This is why I wish the small vehicles were still being produced, a chance to get the other bigger stuff. :(

I think they might look into the Tanks, or BAV tanks. But they'll run a good $60 or more.

Nah I don't think it'll get to Joe levels, or SW. That would kill the line, and I just don't think it'll get that big. But it will get bigger then it is now, as long as we don't always get those 15 exclusives per series.

My guess to do an inscale BAF scarab would cost maybe between 120 and 150, I would pay for that.

No way I would want a Scarab before I would want a Pelican or Phantom.
Do you guys think that this is why they are slow to release marines? They want to make them work with the vehicles? THAT WOULD BE SWEET. Same goes for the regular Brute infantry......hmmmmm, makes you think.

Halo beat every McFarlane line out there from what I know. Even the Spawn line has died down, and odds are cause they're focusing on making Halo, and adding to it. And from what I remember, there hasn't been too much of a decent Spawn line in a long time. I remember a couple years ago, I thought the line had actually DIED cause I didn't see anything ANYWHERE with Spawns name on it. I saw McFarlane, but not Spawn.
I think, like some people said earlier, they may test the vehicle waters by releasing a Warthog or 2, or a Ghost and an ATV, and see how those do. And odds are, with the right price tag, they'll sell out lfaster then the 1st few Batmobiles. And then since that would happen, they'll try to bring the rest of the vehicles out, or at least the most practical ones. And odds are some people would buy more then 1 or 2, since we have so many Spartans.
I have 21 Spartans (2 custom, 1 is a custom of the not yet released Silver Mark VI), 1 of every figure they made so far. And after series 3 I'll have double. Most people, are like me, or worse then me, and have more then I do. Do you really think we'll be able to stick to 1 Warthog if they come out? 3 seater vehicle between 21 Spartans+? I know I'm buying at least 2. And hopefully they make the variants, so I don't have to buy 2 more of the same Warthog. Not to mention Ghosts for the upcoming Grunts, and ATVs, Banshees for the Elites... The list goes on. Basically, not only will we buy vehicles, we'll buy 2 or 3 of the same vehicle, just to fit our massive Armys in them. Hell I'd buy 2 Scorpion Tanks for the right price.

You think that because you're a fan, but I think that as a business it's not viable.

This makes sense in terms of having marines with different sexes/skin tones/face sculpts. I'd personally like to not have a bunch of identical marines. In all seriousness though they could have released one marine in each series with slight retools/re sculpts already. Easy money..

In-scale vehicles would work if you gave the figure collectors something to want. Package the Warthog with a driver, some new variation/color of Spartan that's only available with the vehicle. That way you'd snag the figure completists, the people who may only collect the single figures, and vehicle collectors. Just make it a figure you'd really want to buy seperatly on the shelf.

I also hear talk of Hunters or Hunter 2 packs, but we haven't heard anything else on it in a month or so, as well as hints to weapons packs, and more grunts. So, I'm not jumping on the rumor train just yet. I wanna wait till Joe says "hey guys guess what they just put up on the site news". But...
I think it would be AWESOME, for all of those to come out. I'm snagging me 4 Hunters. Hellz yea...

Agree 100%. Otherwise you end up with a mold that ends up being clearanced too soon after release. It could be a good ay to launch a marine, and then repaint the driver a ton of times as a single carded release.
They could also bump up the Halo points on the mofo and advertise the hell ot of the mail away program at the same time. Repaints of all of it makes it that much easier for retailer exclusives too.
