My most anticipated figure for the last 16 months - since Toy Fair 2007 - has finally arrived...

Medicom Metal Gear Solid 4 RAH Raiden. It's truly a beautiful piece to look at - it doesn't move for crap and is so damned fragile, it rivals a porcelain kitty cat in its desire to jump off my display shelf and break into 1k pieces...but it's truly a great lookin' figure with a ton of cool minute detail - too bad it doesn't more well :(
Over 100 photos HERE (http://2008reviews2.figures.com/showgallery.php?cat=633).
I added a Sideshow BtVS "Vampire Spike" coat to give him a game-accurate look too...

Cool!
I want this figure too, but IMO it should be just a little bit cheaper.

It looks awesome, but at this point I have no need for a figure that fragile.

yes, I'll have a review of it online at www.Figures.com and www.OneSixthWarriors.com next week sometime - and the feet aren't high heels, but - as Spliff pointed out - "thumbs" of a sort. Form follows function and Raiden uses his feet basically as mittens to hold his swords and knives - if you haven't seen how truly bad a s s Raiden is in MGS4, check out the following videos...

that's so sweet. how much does one of these run?
crowinghorse

$180, which is too much IMHO - it's a $130 figure max - sadly, Medicom overprices most of their stuff - :(

It looks amazing. And I love Raiden, he was the best part of MGS2 (don't kill me it's my opinion, I like Snake too). But the $100+ pricetag deterrs me, as does the fragility and non-poseability. Still...looks...AWESOME!!!

Oh, my stars and garters...
That coat looks like it actually came with the figure...A very nice and creative touch.
What an awesome figure, too bad I can't say the same about the pricing. :(

yup - pretty nice overall - wish the feet weren't hard plastic as they don't hold the weapons well...course they are feet... :P - could have made them out of softer molded rubber/plastic which I think would have worked better - oh well...

Only the real Raiden can actually pull off a move such as stabbing people with his feet in a controlled fashion I guess. :p

how fragile is he?
crowinghorse
09-13-2008, 12:24 PM
pretty darn fragile - not so much that he'll break if you pick him up to pose him or move him, but if he takes a fall - even from 10" or 12" - he's gonna break something - his SES (Solid Eye System) and face shield as well as his armored pieces are all attached with glue to the body suit, so they're fairly...well...fragile...
