Dale Sveum is the interim manager.

Yeah just saw it come across the bottom line on ESPN. Why now? I figured he was going to get canned if they blew it again. They couldn't give him 2 more weeks?

Thank god!!!! I been saying all long he should be fired. He is the problem. I mean the brewers dont even look like they are trying or even playing hard. They look just dead. Hopefully this works out.
GO Brewers!!!!!!!!!!!

They've got 6 left vs the Cubs and the Phillies have a bunch of AAA teams left to play this season. If they wanted to make the playoffs, now was the time to make the move.

I wonder if they'll promote from within? Sveum may get some consideration, but AAA Nashville manager Frank Kremblas has been waiting in the wings for some time now and has been rated one of the hottest managerial "prospects" the last couple of years. He's already managed most of the team anyway. Would be a great guy with the right personality to guide the club. They might go with someone with previous ML experience, but no one should be surprised if Frank's the choice.

It's my birthday today and I can honestly say I couldn't ask for a better present than this! Good riddance, should have happened a LONG time ago!

Problem is the Phillies always have trouble beating those "AAA teams" late in the season.

I figured they had to do something to shake this team out of its funk. I have been wanting Yost gone for two years now. Although I don't really care for Sveum that much either.
Ted Simmons has also been reassigned in the organization.

Kremblas has already been fired from his AAA managerial position. So I don't think this will happen.

Was not aware of that. I worked for Nashville the last 4 seasons. This must have just happened then.

I really hope that the Brewers can make the playoffs now that this shake up has happened. I am really losing hope with the schedule that is left and the way the team is playing. But I still want the Brewers to win.
GO BREWERS!!!!!!!

OK. Found an article about it. This proves that there are a bunch of idiots running the big club. Kremblas leads the Sounds to 3 straight division titles, then has a bad team this year because all of the talent had been promoted to the Brewers. They tell him there's no opportunity with the big club, and fire him a few days before they fire Yost and open up a position they just said wasn't there. Complete morons running the show up there.

Kremblas was told that Brewers officials didn't see him getting an opportunity to coach in the big leagues, so they decided to let him seek that opportunity elsewhere. The team does not plan to make a formal announcement until next week, assistant general manager Gord Ash said, but Kremblas was told early so he could begin his search immediately.

I remember how bad they choked last year as well......not sure if it was Yost's fault, but he seems to make some questionable calls.

I don't really follow baseball, but didn't Yost get them to where they're at now?

Yost didn't get much help from Gagne this year either. They invested a lot of money on him and let Cordero go. And lately, the two out hitting has been feeble. I am sure Yost has done some questionable things this year, but he is not the only blame either.

Yost was handed a team with a great young core, an Ace, a great young pitcher and some average vets.
Then his GM went and got him one of the 5 best pitchers in baseball to go along with it.
And yet, somehow he has found a way to have one of the worst records in baseball during the pennant race. He was going to be fired anyways, the Brewers are going to lose Sheets and Sabathia in the off-season. This was their year to end their playoff drought, so why not do everything you can to get into the playoffs?

Yost deserved to be fired but the Brewers are the trashiest organization in baseball.
Granted, Yost was, quite literally, the laughingstock of managers in MLB but it is hilarious they wait to do this until now. Why didn't you do this, like, over a YEAR ago. Dude can't manage. Period.
Instead, they push the panic button after holding a pair of deuces waaaay too long and now after the Sabathia move they realize that 'some' move is better than 'no' move... pathetic.
While the Astros probably won't catch the Brewers they won't be going very far in the post season.
And to think I was pulling for them this year behind the Cards... terrible!

Whoever signed Gange should be fired. Didnt they see any Sox games last year, and also for 10 mil! They could have payed anyone on this board a lot less to throw meatballs over the plate.

Brian,
I have the utmost respect for you as a person and value your opinions, but unless you listened to or watched the Brewers this year you cannot imagine how frustrating this seaon and the end of last season have been. They (ownership) were handicapped by the Brewers ability to beat lesser teams while demonstrating time and time again that they couldn't compete with the better teams in the league. Yost kept making the same mistakes over and over again and refused to hold anyone accountable for their performance, including himself. It remined of an old Roller Derby show where the coach was sabotaging his own players to get the fans all riled up.
Yost shoud have been fired last year, but wasn't. I'm glad they did it now, if for no other reason than to let the players know that they do have to produce and compete, rather than point to their dominance of the Pirates and Nationals and be satisfied.
Hope you and yours are well,
GMLBFan
