Hi everyone!

As some of you remember, i got the Stealth Iron Man bust EX from Sideshow and when i received it, one eye didn't light up.

So, i got my "replacement" today which i thought they were going to give me a brand new one. Instead, since i know they are sold out, they fixed the one i returned. The light works great but i can see where they opened his mask. Some wouldn't noticed it but since i had this before, i remember every detail to this. My question is, would you still keep this? or would you just return it? i don't know what to do, or would you ask for a partial refund? Thanks for any input

I tried my best getting the shot of where i can see where it has been opened and circled it.

I'd rather keep it then return it again and wait for the money and stuff.

Damn, that sux. I'd call them up and see what can be done. Sending it back in for a second time should at least constitute a partial refund.

Yeah, call them & complain...you can clearly see where they pried it open.

Hi,
I just called and the lady had me leave a message for damaged products. It's really disappointing since i never had a problem with sideshow. I even wrote a letter requesting A BRAND NEW ONE not a refurbished piece. I don't want to loose out on this piece but at the same token, i don't like the fact that you can see where the person opened the face, he could of opened it from the side, he didn't have to go directly in the front, ugh!

I'd return it for a refund. Then buy it from Cornerstore comics.

BBTS also has them in stock for $189

But it's not the exclusive with the name plate, i wanted it to go with my red iron man bust. i'll see what sideshow says, maybe i can keep the name plate, you know? i'll see

Nice piece, sorry to here and see your problem, If your not happy get a refund or get them to get you a new one, I saw it today at Capstone Comics and it's pretty sweet. Good Luck Leegeta

Wow. it looks like the repair person used a crowbar to open that. Too bad. Send it back, and ask them to keep the nameplate. Give them a chance to take care of this before giving them anymore heat.

Send it back without the nameplate.

i'd prolly keep it babe. im pretty anal about details but i will say, it only looks bad to you because you have seen it before they opened the mask. from the pics, i can hardly see a diff. just my opinion. :D

I am just very anal about my stuff, i mean really bad lol any little difference i freak out and i don't want it lol If i dont hear from Sideshow today i will call them again and see what they can do

If you could overlook the small damage caused while they repaired it, then just keep it. Like you, I am also very anal about my pieces, especially busts or statues since they are pricey items. Personally, I would return it, but that's me. What sucks is that the piece is already sold out and if you do return it, chances are you'll have to pay some stupid ebay prices to get another one:(

The problem with sideshow products is most of the time they are less than perfect. You would always see some type of defect if you look much closer. I've learned to live with it because sometimes the replacement that you get is much worse or you won't even get a replacement at all. Good luck!

Sideshow customer service sucks. I got screwed with my Stealth Iron Man comiquette by them.

You would think that a company that deals with high end products like this would keep/ have extras made in case of defects, the product being broken during shipment or whatever. Things like this really make me wonder if I really should pay out $300 for the 19" Conan figure. I mean what if the figure get to me broken with out any package damage? And I have seen this happen, I've seen mint packages be opened and the statue or whatever you want to call it is broken in a pretty weird way.

I'm a sucker on repairing and even repainting statues/busts I get because no matter what, I'm never satisfied. I haven't ever had a 'perfect' piece from Sideshow yet. So if it were me I'd hit walmart for some of that color-buff car repair wax and fix the scratch. Then I'd repaint around the eyes/mouth/panel lines, snag some Carnuba Wax, and give the whole thing a polish.

Seriously. You'd think after completely screwing up on the SIM Comiquette because they packaged it terribly, they'd bend over backwards to help you, or at least save a few for replacements. Thats just bad business.

I said it in your first thread, and I will say it again - If it bothers you now, it will ALWAYS bother you. You will never forget it's there, and further down the line you will regret not returning it because someone on the sideshow boards will be selling a perfect piece.
Return it now, while you still can, and I am sure you will come across another one in the future.
