Were those molded from guitars made out of USED CHEWING GUM that some high school freshman made in STUDY HALL???

Those look like complete garbage.... and we're supposed to want to buy those on their own???



Hey Goff man... and whomever else is approving the sculpts for this line..... go back and look at the guitars from the Hendrix line... or the Metallica figures. See the DETAIL? the CRISP LINES?

Seriously. Don't give me any crap about "stylistic" or whatever... I have Guitar Hero III on my computer... and NONE of the guitars look like the chewed up regurgitated turds you have painted and posted above.

Yes. Particularly since the game itself has so many licensed and signature models of guitars... like Hendrix's Montery Pop Festival V.

Just like Todd is revamping the Comic side of the business, he needs to do the same for the Toy side of the business.

To think how much money they've wasted the past recent years on failed lines and sculpts that never saw the light of day is just ponderous.

The difference is Gibson has a partnership with Guitar Hero... that's why the controllers are Gibson licensed shapes.

If anyone, Gibson should have been the first in line to partner up with signature sculpts.



Also...

In the interest of keeping the costs down during production, Guitars are something where you could do a handful of sculpts and release a dizzying array of paint variations that would make sense and be desirable, not just be gimmicky.

However, as Michael Crawford always says... paint can't make or break a sculpt, but no matter how good the paint is, it can't fix a bad sculpt.

I know what shapes the are, but do a quick search and you'll find some articles from earlier this year.

Partnerships turn sour all the time and hurt both sides. Case in point, Gibson sued not only Activision but went on to sue the retailers carrying the game as well because of some shenanigans that occurred with Activision, a patent, and Activision seeking to have that patent marked invalid. If that suit is still going on, and I think it is last time I saw any news on it, they would probably be the last in line to partner up with signature sculpts.

yup! i live right by toronto... I'm planning on making a stage display for them when i get them... there's a really cool (but really sketchy) surplus store that sells all sorts of electronics and LEDS; it'll be sweet if i can figure out the wiring!

Iunno, is it just me or does anyone see this line doing really good, spite all the complaints? I mean, when the Halo 3 figures came out, people were outraged at the scale of them, only 5 inches. But ever since theyve been out, every haul has included more Spartans then I have in my entire collection.
