I went today. Didn't see too much. I attended a panel pertaining to horror in comics and film. The people who were suppsoed to host it were no-shows, so Brian Pulido took the reins and led an impromptu discussion about horror--he seems like a really cool guy. Arther Suydam (Marvel Zombies cover artist) joined in on the discussin too. I saw Lou Ferrigno and shook his hand--that guy still looks amazing.

Anyhow, I didn't get any comics, figures, or statues. But I did get bootleg DVD's of some stuff I've been wanting for years:

Rocko's Modern Life: complete series
The Wonder Years: complete series
Are You Afraid of the Dark?: complete series
Freakazoid: complete series
Evil Dead: the musical

All in all, it was a good day.

I can't wait to watch Rocko again. It's been so long.

And the Wonder Years is just amazing. Once I work my way to that last episode I'll probably cry even though I already know what happens. That's got to be one of the saddest last episodes ever--it's just too real.

:(

I never saw the last epsiode...

Most tv stations around here were pretty crappy with keeping series on till the end when I was young.

Edit: Damn now I want the Wonder Years on DVD to follow it through to that last episode...

I'll bet it's floating somewhere here in cyber space.

Yeah I bet it is but I'd rather see the entire series through to that last episode then just the last episode itself.

I'd assume they're all somewhere, but that could take some work I guess.

Sounds like for the most part, I didn't miss much. I was thinking of going, but I was at a local video game store and the guy had the box set for Rock Band for the PS3 for $100. I was gonna go in there and JUST get RB, maybe RB and the guitar, but then when he said he had the whole bundle for $100. I stood there for a sec......and I was like "oh, what the hell". I was even gonna pick up a couple of older video game strategy guides (which woulda added another $20 to the bill) and the owner was like "on the house, man. You're one of my regulars."

Needless to say you can guess what I was doing last night.

Nice haul regardless tho, man!

Yeah, you didn't miss much. There was some uber-fanboy stuff going on and a few people in costumes (nothing great), but I think it was pretty sad. I've never been to another con for comparison, but I just got the feeling that this one was lacking in some ways.

I always check out Origins (the gaming convention) in Columbus every year. THAT is a fun convention! I've been meaning to go up to Novi (Michigan) for Motor City Con, but I never just get up and go to it.

If you want a fun comic con to go to that's a doable distance, try Motor City Con.
