I was searching online to see what others are doing since I too am in the process of painting a custom 12" Spartan and came across this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3ASS%3AMOTORS%3A1123&viewitem=&item=280274176333#ebayphotohosting

Not bad, the catsuit needs some detail IMO though.

Eh, no thanks. The original is better

Now that's impressive work.

Aww he is gonna sell it...

That is a member at the onesixthwarriors.com forum who made that. His thread was linked over here as well.

Pretty well done... could use a slightly smaller body though...

why would someone buy it when there is a 12" MC coming??? What's the point?

How is McF's any less real than this custom's?

I have to agree. It looks like a toy cosplayer.

Looks like he used that Krylon spray paint made specifically for plastic.

You get more points and a much better range... not to mention they don't have the the strange and unusual hips... I mean, if that's supposed to be a person inside the armor on McF's version, i'd hate to see how horribly disfigured they are from the waist down...

So... Id rather have the basic one, tbh...

its a tru type body underneath so i guess its a more real representation of what a spartan would look and feel like....but then again we are talking about a fictional character...

Oh, ok. I didn't realize that body was articulated like that.

Still though, how often does McF do articulation like on 12" MC these days?

It's good, but I don't like the soft thread undersuit. The undersuit in Halo is a polymer soft metal, not cloth.

Nice custom. But I'll wait for the real one!

Good job, however. :)

I agree. Even when the first 5" figs came out, I thought they looked like they had diapers on under the armor. They could have gone with the standard balljoint hips IMO. Still think they are well done figs!! :D

Yeah, well there's no way to do that in real life. Yet.... ;)

I agree with you but the way he describes it in the auction makes it sound like you cant pose it too much due to how he glued everything together.

a rubberish, suits like one used on Rah spawns and spidermans wouldve been better

The work is impressive, from the pics anyway. One thing I don't like is the glossy armor. He should have dull coated the armor before applying it to the figure. The cloth look under the armor? I like that!

I'm working on it. First step? Hydrogen torch, aluminum, carbon fiber, an' some chocolate puddinz'.
