Most people on Ebay are stupid, on both ends of the stick. Scalpers, and the Rtarded buyers that pay their prices.

As I've mentioned before, pre-orders were limited to one per customer and the website is showing the Orange Haya as 'Out of Stock' now rather than 'Available to Pre-order'. Does this mean they've accounted for their entire online stock? I dunno but it's likely considering the hype around this one figure. If that means they only have stock left to go into their stores you can bet it won't be much and you can bet it'll be picked clean pretty damn quick. We do have scalpers here too ya know and they've likely seen what these are going for already.

Thats true, but they're still a hell of a lot more accesible to you guys than an exclusive that is limited to one chain of videogame shops in the UK (and Oz, but how many of you ever get anything shipped from there?).
It would be interesting to know how many are actually being supplied to Gamestation because the Halo figures are not as much of a craze over here as they are in the States. What was left of Series 1 got reduced to half price fairly quickly in Gamestation stores, likewise on Play.com

Pre-ordering instore is a completely different kettle of fish. If you know the staff and they agree to hold stock for you that's a bonus but all it means is that there will be less for other customers to buy so it doesn't make them any easier to get hold of. Besides, unless he actually paid for them already I wouldn't go counting your chickens

We're thinking they're gonna be like the Gamestop exclusives when they come out. 8 Oranges per case, 1-3 cases per store +whatever was preordered. And as far as I know, you have to put $5 down on a preorder here at Gamestop. Is Gamestation the same with those? I know my dudes getting them from the store, not the site.

Not sure how it works in-store but they don't have an official in-store pre-order system.

My dude did it like 2 months ago or longer. They might just have cut off the preorder date. Gamestop stopped their preorders 2 weeks before they got the figures. And it'll take longer for Gamestation since they're further away from the wearhouse ;).

Ok I need to put a stop to all this. First off YES TMP employees get free figures after being with the company for a certain amount of time. HOWEVER they will get fired if they are found selling those figures and I believe that any store exclusives are not included in this only normal production pieces.

NOW what I think happened is many times companies will send out samples to various places (magazines, web sites, etc) so pictures can be taken and articles can be written. Also anything with a license involved means that final product approval needs to be made by the company that owns the license (ie bungie) meaning that samples of all the figures are sent to that company for approval. What has happened in the past is these pre-release figures get into the hands of people and get sold. It has happened with club exclusives before (stealth scar pred).

I think is is discusting that you would blam someone you don't even know about stealing figures. I can assure you that anyone caught doing this gets fired and taken to court. This very thing happened with someone that stole a pre production sample of the world series barry bonds figure. It seems alot more likely that an outside company is getting these figures early and someone there is selling them.

Frankly this is absolutly nothing new and I don't see why you are so pissed. You are not the one bidding, you already have yours ordered, and it is not retails are going to see this auction and jack up the price. Calm down it is just a repaint of the figure that is already out.

80% of the time, the only way to get something from the company you work for without buying it in the store is selling it. And since this can't be found in the store they'd shop at, there ya go. Being that there have only been what 3 on ebay it seems like that is more likely than someone at Mcfarlane risking their job for a couple bucks on ebay. That's what happened with the S2 Blues. Scalper made the demand, and shortend the supply, and made them the higher prices for a while. That not only burns our UK bardie friends out of buying them to trade for us, but getting theirs as well. That's how it works. Eventually they will go down. But probebly not under $40. Because of these ****** bags selling them for over $100 a pop.

Todd makes money off the regulars since he has the exclusives. While people go looking, if they don't find any exclusives, they pick up another figure to help with the disapointment (not everyone does this, and not all the time). And if they do find one, sometimes it just doesn't feel right buying 1 figure, he needs a companion :D (again not everyone does this). Plus most people are hunting for the exclusives and buy the main set all the way. If there weren't any, the line would still do ok, but not be as big a success as it is. People would still buy the campeign figures, but prolly not as many. The only reason I have as many Covies as I do is because I feel the Spartans outnumber the Covenant figures I have. Still do with all the ones I got. And now the Elites are there to help the Spartans out. The Covenant members are extremely outnumbered.

Actually, this company runs a consignment store and they sell items for customers. So actually whoever dropped off that figure for them to sell is not taking any risks here. I think the person who dropped it off told them to do a 1 day auction so "They" can sell it rather quickly.

I make some of my auctions a day. Depends on how fast I need the money, and if I think that the item will sell for same price in a day or in ten days... It's a common practice.
