Now don't get me wrong, the fact that at least one Spawn figure is coming out this year is a good thing. However, instead of putting out an online, collectors club figure that's just a redone figure from the past why not put out some of the figures that have never been released? What about the figures that people were looking forward to but never got to actually have the chance to buy like the Zodiac and the Bladehunters? If the main problem with the Zodiac & Bladehunter figures was that there wasn't mass appeal then putting them out online in limited numbers seems to make since to me. That way people that actually want them could have a chance to buy them off line from the Spawn store. Just a thought.

cost of new molds and tooling + small quantities for the CC = no profit

Pretty much right on the nose.

They ought to sneak him into Halo cases as well, kinda like the rumors that Hasbro might piggyback Indiana Jones figures into Star Wars cases.

They already had stuff done for Zodiac 2 & Bladehunters 2. Were they not far enough along in the process to finish up and put some out?

I don't know exactly how far they got on those particular figures, but I believe the prototype figures are made from temporary molds. They may not have gotten to tooling the master production molds yet.

If they had tooling on say, the Necromancer I'd suspect that they'd have already tried to release it somehow since it's very expensive once you've gotten to that point and you'd not want to have to eat that

if they never got to the tooling, it's a lot easier to stop and walk away from something
