What the heck is wrong with this guy? BIG Slopi is no longer clutch or even a good hitter anymore. Was he on the "juice" during his prime and now that he is off, this is the real Ortiz?

This is David Arias, the player Ortiz was before he found his 'magic juice'.

Ortiz's wrist injury has hurt him the entire season. He came back earlier than he was supposed to. We're lucky he's even playing this post-season.

No Manny = No Protection simple as that. no one will fear Youkilis, Bay, Drew or anyone else Boston put's behind Ortiz like they did Manny.
it was a good trade for Boston in theory but the prescence of Manny behind Ortiz made them the most fearsome duo in the majors. no other 3-4 combo will perform like they did the last 4 years for a very long time.
just look at last year's playoffs. if not for Manny and Ortiz getting on base every freakin' at bat Boston would have been completely sunk. those 2 single handedly won the WS for the Sox last year and even though they could very well win it again this year the level of confidence has to down somewhat since there is not as much fear in the opponents eye's.

Oh, real lucky.....he hasn't done crap......only thing he is good for is a pop fly or a base on balls. That is it......no production from the 3 spot.
Don't get me started on Varitek !!!! He needs to "go away"

dude, you're bashing on two of the most productive players in our franchise's history. Relax. Be grateful we won it all in '04 and '07. Maybe this year just isn't our year.

I hope your right!!! I think the Sox will sign him back.......why I don't know.........they say he is great with the pitching staff. To bad he can't hit a baseball anymore.....

0 - 3 tonight.....with 2 pop outs and a K looking............horrible!!! All with runners on base. 0 - 52 at bats without a HR in the postseason.

This is all due to lack of Manny behind him.

It's a combination of things, his swing is messed up because clearly his wrist is bothering him and of course you can't ignore the Manny factor, when you have one of the Top 10-15 hitters of all-time hitting behind you, it's definitely going to make your job easier and give you alot of hittable pitches. But still, Garza went right at him on a couple of occasions today and threw him fastballs on the inside corner and Ortiz really couldn't do anything with the pitch.

Garza was damn good tonight.

Also, pissing me off......with Ortiz not hitting the ball and with TB putting the shift on every time. WHY don't they just have Ortiz bunt one down the 3rd base line? Just get on base and give Drew, Bay, and the other a chance to drive him in. Instead, they let BIG Sloppy try to swing away....which just leads to him popping out or hitting one into the shift.

The Rays don't put the shift on vs. Ortiz until he has a strike on him so he can't bunt down the third base line.

The Sox have a lot of problems, outside of Ortiz as well bud.
No offensive production from Lowrie/Cora, Varitek, and Ellsbury isn't helping anything either. Francona has also made some extremely questionable decisions this series that have not helped.

Bro, don't even go there. It was not just Sox fans cursing and taunting. You and I can both agree that the Trop over-served ALL the fans Sat. night since the game went as long as it did creating a ton of problems for everyone, especially if you brought ur kids w you.
It's been all over the radio the last 2 days how bad everything was down there. I can't remember how many arrests they said went down.

That was your "boy" Beckett's fault, my god he was taking almost 2 minutes between pitches.
