Ah, the candy section. No wonder I can't find them.

Anyone stay up late Friday night to watch Super Jamario run for 203 yards?

Bryan316
11-08-2004, 11:15 PM
Finally!!! JFC, I finally found the 3" NFL figs.

Grabbed:
Terrell Owens (bright sun + magnifying glass = fun)
Deuce McAllister (extra for possible dashboard custom)
Brian Urlacher
Ray Lewis
Jake Delhomme
Brett Favre
Randy Moss
Michael Vick

Hopefully I can find Faulk & Brady. Looking at the 2-pack list, most of these singles are staying in the package since I want both players in the 2-pack.

Anyone have a list of the NBA singles that are supposed to be out there?

Iamgoodyy
11-08-2004, 11:56 PM
NFL 10 still hasn't hit the wearhouse, it should be any day now. And NBA 7 is on order to the wearhouse. I haven't found the SKN for the Sosa/Ryan 12" figures.

Bryan316
11-09-2004, 12:32 AM
Nah, they had 1 Holmes (which I already have from the Harrison 2-pack) and 1 McNabb, which I don't want. They also had Ricky Williams and Mike Alstott, and I readily passed on both of those.

Are the Portis and Ward available at Target, or just from singles dealers?

Bryan316
11-09-2004, 11:04 PM
think those single dealers packages are different looking...arent they??? uglier in my opinion. The dealer ones are like the SGA Ming, and look pretty bad. I really like these since they're in the theme of the regular clamshells. That's probably my main reason for wanting some of them for my walls.

North Texas (5-4, 5-0) will try to extend its 23-game Sun Belt winning streak against Idaho (3-7, 2-4) at Fouts Field in Denton Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CST. The game will be broadcast live as part of the Sun Belt ESPN Regional package with Sam Smith and Geradie Mercer providing the call. It can be seen in the Dallas/Fort Worth area on KFWD Channel 52 and it can also be heard live on KWRD (100.7 FM) and KNTU (88.1 FM)in Dallas/Fort Worth.

After starting the season 0-4, North Texas has now won five straight games and is one win away from clinching its fourth straight Sun Belt championship and New Orleans Bowl berth. The Mean Green is averaging 33.8 points in conference games and is led by true freshman running back Jamario Thomas who leads the nation in rushing and has rushed for four straight 200-yard games. Idaho is playing its last season as a member of the Sun Belt and will become a member of the WAC in 2005. The Vandals are averaging 42.7 points in their three wins and 9.6 points in their seven losses.

Just got back from LoneStar Plano with a 49ers Owens and Roy Double Star for Jaguarfan. There is a Trent Green variant I left behind I think it was 15.95. Surprisingly the prices weren't bad for the figures this time a dollar higher then Gamestop. I think the Dallas store still has a 49ers Owens and both Roys.

They also had the 12" MLB figures but at 34.95 it was too high.

Well darn I was hoping to get some salmon and new punisher comic books soon. Also, the Dan Patrick show was great on Monday, scored me a VIP pass to from a lady. Anyone go out to any of the other local radio shows? Also, as a restaurant review Buffalo Wild Wings has the worst wings in the metroplex IMO, only crappy wet sauce that really didn't have any flavor.

Check your TRU's for NFL 10 tomorrow morning, it should be the day. GL on your search.

Looking at what night crew rolled out tomorrow, there might be a case of NFL8 on the pegs McFarlane-wise...

Blue Delhomme opener
White Roy opener
Blue Roy mint

Everything else I'm sure I'll find on the pegs.

"North Texas (6-4, 6-0) tries to extend its 24-game Sun Belt winning streak at Arkansas State (3-7, 3-3) tonight in Jonesboro, Ark. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CST. The game will be broadcast live as part of the Sun Belt ESPN Regional package with Sam Smith and Jim Donnan providing the call. It can be seen in the Dallas/Fort Worth area on KFWD Channel 52 and it can also be heard live on KWRD (100.7 FM) and KNTU (88.1 FM) in Dallas/Fort Worth.

North Texas leads the series with Arkansas State 7-6 and has won the last three meetings. The Indians lead the series 4-2 in Jonesboro although North Texas squeaked out a 13-10 win at the last meeting in Indian Stadium in 2002. In that game, redshirt freshman quarterback Andrew Smith hooked up with George Marshall for a touchdown with 53 seconds to play in the game to secure the win. Four of the six games in Jonesboro have been decided by a touchdown or less.

North Texas will be making its fourth straight trip to the New Orleans Bowl thanks to its championship clinching win over Idaho Saturday. It will be the seventh bowl appearance in school history, with the Mean Green also playing in the Optimist Bowl (1946), Salad Bowl (1948) and Sun Bowl (1959) in addition to the last three New Orleans Bowls. Only 28 teams have been to more consecutive bowl games than North Texas with Nebraska leading the way with 35 straight."

My TRU seems to have put out the 4 remaining cases of NFL10 last night. There were many RWs to chose from, but I only grabbed the one with the best paint job. I also grabbed one of the 2 Vinatieris and the only chase figure that was out there, a white Randy Moss. There was a case on a pallet Friday night, already cut, but when I took a looksee, there was already one figure missing. Probably the same with the rest of the cases. Damn seasonal hires...

Damn seasonal hires...
That's why you need to establish your turf Bryan. Everyone knows not to mess with the Ballas in the boys departments. I didn't get the price change form on the 12" figures today so I didn't check. If Bryan says they are 19.95 I would go with his answer, but I'll confirm tomorrow.

Bryan316
11-21-2004, 09:01 PM
Well, my turf is walled off from the rest of the store, so no backroom beatdowns for me. But if someone wants a game held for them, there better be some compensation...

Picked up a white Roy Williams at Plano TRU on Tuesday night - looked like about 3 cases total in the bin. Watch out because the employee who was putting them out knew all the NFL10 variants so I assume he grabbed them all.

Well... I got frustrated with SPs and moved on to exclusively collecting MOTU. Mattel ended that and around the same time some guys at work convinced to me to try this game called Lineage 2. I innocenlty started a guild which grew to 90+ people and we took a castle (the ultimate goal in the game in my opinion). Yesterday I woke up and decided I wanted my life back. =)

As far as my non online life goes I've moved 3 times in the last three years, am still in school, working at the same place, and recently broke up with my girlfriend of 3 1/2 years.

That is it in a nutshell I suppose. So how the hell are ya'll?

Good. Now I can officially say that the managment sucks *** at that TRU.

The guys that work toys are really helpful and nice, but their are a few bosses that are jerk offs. I was even told by an employee once that I would have a better chance getting an Evil Lynn online than fighting with managment over who get's to crack MOTU cases first.

We complained to the bald boss, and he finally acted like they had just gotten her in. He had 4 Evil Lynns and some Man-E-Faces in his stash...and he acted like I owed him for the one Evil Lynn.

He always gave first shot to these "collector" guys that just oozed scalperness. And that store is dirty and small, and that's just the store. The parking lot and the level below need a good pressure-washing or 2. I haven't been in there since June when I grabbed my last paycheck, and I don't know if I want to bother stopping in.

You would be SUPRISED to know you weren't missing anything.

That place is the worst with Marvel Legends. My God. I have seen a BRAND NEW CASE out and it was still missing figures. This case couldn't have been more than 20 minutes old they said, and the employee could still not explain why the hell their was no good figures. I am not even talking about chases! I wanted a ****in Deadpool and a Juggs like everyone else...yet all I would find are Punishers and Wolvies. I ran into the same problem w/ ML 7...tons of Weapon X Wolvies and NO Visions or Apoc's. I am not one to moan and cry scalper when I can't find what I want, but their was always something very fishy and low rent about your old managers.

They have gotten better with Sports figures. They have NHL Legends and some of the newer two packs. Still no Garnett/Wallace or NBA 7 that I know of yet.

Speaking of which, has anyone else found NBA 7 or the NBA 7 Two-Pack at TRU or Gamestop? I may hit the newer, better Lone Star this afternoon and see if I can find a Wallace since I won't have a lot of time to find one otherwise.

The Mars Volta

nba 7 is scheduled to arrive 12/7 or 8 @ gamestop

Nevermind Gamestop in that case. I should be able to find some at TRU for cheaper before they show up at Gamestop...if that is the correct time.

Gamestop release dates are not always 100% correct.

usually they are because im always hitting them up now because lately they've been the first to get anything around here.

I have noticed that also. They seem to be first with all McFarlane, and seem to have been first to get these for a few years now.

I am giving TRU the benefit of the doubt because they are the first according to sightings. I also read a CNN article saying that a lot of toy companies are giving new toys and HTF toys to TRU first to boost the X-Mas season and hopefully salvage the store from going under.

TRU on Walnut Hill had 2 LeBrons left! That's it! LeBron looked good...but I passed.

They also had about 10 of the Garnett/Wallace Packs. I would say about 75% had the Ben Wallace Afro Version, and their were only a few that had the cornrows. Oh well. The piece is AWESOME. The interaction is great, and they happen to be two of my favorite players.

I was picking my friend up from work at the Addison Rink, and he had told me that Mike Modano and some other NHL players were playing pickup. He said Modano tipped him a couple bucks to fetch the Gatoraid and Hydrate drink. He said everyone appeared to be having a great time.

Basically, they'll refund the Airhog you bought, and rering it with the free one. That way, it's all reflected in the inventory. I'm not sure if you'll have to bring the actual Airhog with you, or if just the receipt is fine since it's dated and you obviously didn't get the free item. Iamgoodyy, am I right?

Yes he will be missed. Now who is going to provide info on all the auto signings in DFW for me?

Pastor Rickie Rush (I.B.O.C.) is having a book signing this Saturday at Walmart Lancaster for all you church goers (not me).

looks like reggie jackson has double booked himself...he's supposed to be at a tristar show the same day that he's scheduled to be at ticketstock. his tristar appearance is at 2pm central and his ticketstock signing starts at 4pm central. something tells me he's not gonna make ticketstock. :(

Mike,
Have you heard anything more about this? I'm not too optomistic. I checked Jackson's booking agent's web site and it has him in San Francisco and not at Ticketstock.

I emailed The Ticket, I'll let you know if I hear anything.

That is a mistake on TriStar's part. Reggie will be at Ticketstock.

I didn't say never. Depends on the team. You'll have a better chance if a team is at the Anatole. If your looking for Shaq; he has a home in the area and will most likely stay there.

I've done some (mainly hockey), but not much since the AAC opened. Reunion Arena used to be very easy when teams stayed at the Hyatt Reunion--most players would walk from the hotel to the arena, so autograph seekers just waited in the park between the hotel & Reunion.

The Crescent is a waste of time--the team bus parks in the hotel courtyard, thus on private property; hotel security quickly removes autograph seekers. I would imagine the Four Seasons is the same--the Wizzards stayed there when Jordan was with them so he could play golf.

Either next to the stadium/convention center or across I-30 at the Hilton--both are extremely difficult locations to get autographs & neither one allows autograph seekers to hang around. Your best bet for baseball is at the stadium; unless you like running from hotel security.

Ticketstock stories anyone?

Went out for Reggie Jackson today. Things got pretty ugly late this afternoon when Jason Whitten left his signing early for an announced family emergency; however, before he left people were pretty cheesed off at him putting initials (JW & his number on items), This was preceeded by an announcement 30 minutes prior to Jackson's appearance that he would only sign baseballs and flats (8x10 and under). A bunch of people had brought bats (my son & I included), jerseys, mini-helmets, etc...; plus vendors were selling these items like hotcakes. Fortunately, we had some backup items with us for such an event. After the announcement vendors refused to make refunds on the premium items (at least that was the situation when we left about 4:15). Things were pretty tense to say the least.

Just wondering if anyone else made their way out today and was caught offguard by the events?

To the Ticket's credit they are trying to work out a make-up appearance with Whitten for those who were still holding autograph tickets.

Overall, it was a good event--minus the Jackson snaffu. The autograph lines for Jackson and Woodson were huge.

I wondered if you made it out. There must have been another 200+ people in line when they ran out Jackson tickets. The line was so long that folks in the front didn't even bother with going to the back for the chance at a second ticket.

We now have 2 bats that we'll try to get signed at Spring Training--hopefully we 'll run into Santo, Banks, Williams or Sandberg at the Cubs facility.
