Anyone coming up here for the Canseco signing? And why Hastings? That place is expensive as it is. Couldn't he have at least gone for the B&N across the street? And why no Dallas or FW appearance?

Hastings does signings like this all the time. Apparently, they have some type of agreement with a couple of the publishers. If it is like the rest of the signings, Hastings usually limits the autos to books or items purchased at their store. They might change that because he is a sports figure, but I would check before I waiting in line.

Just got off the phone with the people at Sam's the signing is from 4.30-6.00PM. Also the book is $17 in hardcover. And he will only be signing the book, hopefully that will change. The store's number is 817-989-1992. Guy in the book department said the last author they had out 500 people showed up to it, so I imagine a big crowd will be there. I've got to bust it over from Richardson after a midterm so someone save me a spot in line. See you guys there.

My kids and I have had nothing but positive experiences with the Rangers young stars--Blalock, Teixeira, Young, Soriano, etc...

For example, this year at Spring Training all of the aforementioned players (plus others) took time to talk with my kids, sign autographs . . .

The same has been true at the Ballpark and at season ticketholder events.

A lot of peopel were on Dirk about his comments, but he is right. Nash should not have gotten off a 3-point shot like that. That was pathetic! Most 7th graders know that. Actually, all it means is that the Frogs forgot they actually had to play to beat SMU. They were still riding the OU wave looking forward to Utah. And when receivers don't catch passes and defenses don't stop the run, and your kicker misses 3 of 4 field goals.....that's what happens. I'm a loyal Frog Fan, but they got what they deserved!! My tenure with Geoffrey may also be drawing towards its end. If it's not the lack of selling copious amounts of Protection Plans, it'll be the 2 weeks in mid-November. Week before Thanksgiving is now Homecoming week so I have a bonfire to build, and for Thanksgiving we're going to Disneyland. Granted, after 6 Green Fridays, I'm due one off, but they won't see it like that.

And yes, we got soo beat down tonight it wasn't even funny. Holy God, man, our 2 points weren't even earned. Their punter couldn't handle the ball so he kicked it out of the back of the endzone to save 4 points. I won't blame it on our defense, as they played tough until they were just worn out. It's just that you can't run sweeps and options when they have 7-8 guys in the box watching for the run.

The Cowboys MNF game against the Eagles on 14 November is a possibility. Of course, there are also the Stars and Mavs if a Cowboys viewing isn't in the cards. Any suggestions? Opinions?

What is this potentail list?If you're referring to what I said, I was just saying that if anyone found an extra and was going to offer it to one of us to pass me over, as I got mine. Granted, I'm torn between keeping it, or tracking down another to open. Since they've worn them twice now (I think), I may want to open one up.

Mike, I think I know who you're talking about, and it was probably in response to someone on the phone. After this weekend, if anyone calls up there and are told "yeah we have them, but you need to come see what we have," try not to flip out. Most of the people on the floor don't give a **** who is in the series or what chase figures we got, and they're not going to dig through them and hold any for you (general 'you,' not aimed at anyone). Not a personal thing, but with so many people calling for a collectible that actually has stocking rules, it's first come- first serve.

For those looking for something to do tonight, turn to ESPN2 and lose the remote, as the past 2 NCAA leading rushers take the field against a tough conference opponent!

That's true, I did find some 12" TMNT turtles last time I was there. Its just that $10 admission fee that aggravates me. I can't wait for Wizard World.
