Hello, and I am just bringing up a question that, these halo figs are getting so numerous it's redicilous, along with many other small figs that I collect, and I realize that they aren't great figs. I am thinking of moving onto 12 and 14 inch figs only, like sideshow and hot toys and selling most of my collection over a long period of time. So, slowly reducing the size of my small scale collection, and collecting sideshow, medicom, hot toys etc. only, and getting one or two of this figs every couple of months and not going out hunting for these small figs like Halo which is all I am hunting for at the moment.

That's what I'm doing. I'm done with mass-market stuff unless it's something I just have to have. All the money I'm spending on the store crap could be spent on bad ass, quality figures once a month and not only will I accumulate an awesome collection, it will appreciate in value.

Yea, I hae random Halo figs that are so annoying just sitting there, when with all that money I could spend on a short smaller collection, buying figs from sideshow and hot toys that are just worth so much more and look so much better on my shelf.

yea, im done already and i just started getting into this, once i got that 18" neca alien, i compared it to my smaller spawns, and i was like yea im sticking to the big action figs. there isnt anything rewarding about the smaller figures, the big detailed ones are something you can show pride in displaying at least, i think all the spawn toys are cool, no matter what size tho, but i think im gonna buy that resin statue, and wait for more bigger spawn figs from mcfarlane.

yea the smaller figures that you buy so many of add up to the cost of a sideshow collectible, and you look back on all your smaller ones that you dont take a second look at and your like... damn

I mainly just buy what I really like. Im pretty critical about stuff when I see it in person, but if your gonna do anything high end I recommend you try not to be a completest and just buy what you truly want. Completest tend to drive themselves into bankruptcy when they go high end

Collect money. Not toys.

I think moving up in sizee is just part of the natural progression in collecting.

I am doing the 12" myself.
Mostly into Spiderman stuff though so not much to cllect other than staues & RAH Medicom.

Well...really, they're all pieces of wasted money.

Anyway, I keep thinking about moving into higher end, 1/6th scale stuff. Haven't quite done it yet, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna happen on down the line. That said, if you really like the smaller Halo stuff, there's no real reason to stop collecting those. The ridiculous amount of product coming out is irrelevant - just buy the ones you actually want.

Keep in mind that when you move up in scale you're going to lose variety-it's not profitable for companies to produce those more obscure characters at such high production costs.

ive always enjoyed collecting what a i like and there are things i like from all spectrums ... 1/6.. premium format and just retail type stuff that intrigues me .. i find it to be more fun this way. So small or big .. both is fun i think :)

I didn't mean that in a confrontational sort of way. I'm just saying, the argument of wasting money isn't so valid when we're all buying toys. They're pretty much wastes of money by definition.

eh I understand what you are saying, but I don't think its a waste if you truly appreciate everything you buy......any material possesion is a waste of money with what you are saying. But from my point of view I feel the little things aren't worth it. and that the higher end figs justify the price(sometimes). but again this is all my opinion. I also think Completionist are a silly bunch.

I made my desicion and I am going to do both, considering I am young and cannot get a lot of money to afford these high end figs, so I am most likely going to have to only get sideshow medico, hot toys etc figs only at the holidays.
