well, not that, but the fact that the detailed Hot toys mark II is being released, and the fact that this fig is being released 5 months after the iron man movie release.

plus the Mark III 12" hasbro made sucks, so all those factors make this release pointless

For the movie or for the toys? I might buy me a Mark II from the smaller scale since KMart here still has the MK I and MK II. I might get them to attempt to complete my set a little bit, but I'm missing the Target exclusive and the Stealth metallic blue suits, not to mention Captain America and Satelite armor (which I only want the Silver of), so I unno. Depends on how much extra $$$ I have and if anyone else picks them up before they go on clearance.

Do remember that kids won't be buying the HT version as its japanese, and this is an affordable alternative for 12'' collectors.

Not really, its a great way to make more money, and it does make the set complete, why buy Mark I and Mark III, and not get II, also the mark 2 HT comes with the "Tony Stark Has a Heart" box, and the chest is molded differently, so its not a complete waste.
