View Full Version : Broken Wii Help?
So my Wii was fixed for free by Nintendo. (thanks to a boardie who suggested it).
New problem came up yesterday.
When I turn it on, I can click "A" to go to the wii home screen and the + and Minus buttons on the wiimote work. But no cursor comes up --so we can't do anything. We can't play games becase there is no cursor on the screen to select the games.
THe wiimotes are working fine -the A button and plus minus buttons work. But none of the 4 wii motes have a cursor. This happened all the sudden yesterday. Any suggestions on how to fix it?
Thanks.

make sure the sensor bar is in there securely
all it does is emit two lights
try replacing the sensor bars with two candles a few inches apart.
also try plugging in a classic controller to see if you can move the cursor around with the analog stick
Thanks for the response. Would the wiimotes + and - buttons work if the sensor bar isn't working? The bar's wire is plugged into the back of the wii, so I'm not sure what is wrong.

they absolutely would, all of the button responses are sent to the wii through bluetooth, and the sensor bar has no effect on this.
try the candles, or the classic controller,if youre able to get the cursor then it's probably the sensor bar.
i assume that it's the same tv set up from when you originally had it in working order. if you moved it sometimes sunlight can mess up the cameras in the remotes, making them not function properly.

I can't afford to worry about your broken Wii, since I've bent my Wookie.

Thanks so much for the help. Are you saying that the sensor bar might be broken or the LEDs in the wiimotes might be broken?

chances are it's the sensor bar if none of the other remotes work.
try it with candles just to be sure though, it could be potentially be something else
