I have this idea for a custom... *new problem, COME HELP* [Archive]

I was thinking bout this for a while, and I can't think of how to do it properly, so I'm gonna ask your guys's opinion. I wanna take an Angel figure from X-Men classics with the awesome looking armor, paint the wings a red shade, and then change the heads, but I don't know what head to use to make it look good. I want a ponytail hair style, but it needs to have the same neck joint as the Angel figure to fit properly and be in scale with it. Then paint it's hair the same red shade as the wings, and probebly make the armor costume black with red trim. What head do you guys think might work for it? I am completetly stumped on this one.

I shoulda mentioned I want it human looking lol. Omega Red's head would be too big anyway. I was thinking something DCU or ML but there is nothing in there I can use that I know of. But thanks for attempting. I'm really discombobulated about this lol.

Dremmel out sabertooths face, and dremmel off the top of Angels head, then glue Sabers hair to angels face.

That's an idea. Angel's head is slightly too small for the body though. But I never thought of doing that. I don't have an AoA Sabertooth for myself yet, let alone to custom, but that may be the way I go with it.

I wanna make sure I know what I'm doing the whole way through when I start. I need to buy the extra Angel body and the paint, and the head or hair piece when, and I need to have the extra money for it all lol. It's just an idea I wanted to do, but I prolly won't be able to. If I do it I'll definintely put pics up.

That Vega's hair is kinda what I'm looking for, but the face sculpt isn't right for me. I wonder if the hair is able to be removed like some figures. And is Vega supposed to be tall? Cause to scale that seems the Street Fighter stuff was a little bigger.

A while back, Jin made a custom "monk" Xorn, and used the body from SF's "Gen", and it seems to work fine with both the Xorn head, and the iceman head...

EDIT* The SF line is all over the place in scale from tall to short, skinny to bulky so trying to figure out a certain scale is hard.

I like Ken's face sculpt but the hair isn't what I was looking for. I like Vega's hair the best. I might have to try and see if I can stick it on another head, or even Angel's itself. How much would these run me?

Never mind, I checked it out. Vega is only about $20 dlvd give or take, and Angel is the same price. I already have 1 Angel, but I'd want another to custom.

BTW, the reason for this is I kind of want a figure custom made for the main character of the book I'm writing, which needs wings and an armor/ninja looking suit and a ponytail, and they don't have anything like that made already. So I'll have to make him myself, if I get the extra cash.

I just rememberd I like Ryu's face sculpt for the SOTA figures (from what I remember). Can anyone post some pics and whether the hair is removeable or not? I might try to put Vega's hair on Ryu's head. That would work PERFECTLY for what I wanna do.

Does it look like the closed mouth Ken and Vega will work? I would really like to use that if I could. Ryu's head looks good but the hair is skulpted as you said, so it won't work.

Alright, head issue solved for the male character. Now I have an issue with the female character.

I got the body and head down, cat tail is gonna be easy to come by when the Tigra figure comes out next month (pretty ****in convinient I thought). Anyway, I need a figure of the 6" scale with cat ears. Doesn't matter the color, I'ma chop em off and paint em black (if they're not black already). I need to try and make it compatible with the new 2 pack Elektra alternate (non-headband) head. I checked into the 6" Inuyasha figures and Play Arts Cait Sith. I don't like the Cait Sith designs, so that's out. Inuyasha looks like it might work, but the Series 1 is $40+ and I don't wanna pay that much just to chop the ears off, and the Series 4 is in a different pose and I don't know if the ears will work or not. So I need advice. Does anybody have these figures and think it'll work? Or are there any more ideas of figures I could look into to chop the ears off of that aren't gonna cost an arm and a leg?

If I do this right it'll turn out great. If I don't it'll turn out like ****. I want the the 1st option, so that's why I'm asking you guys. I don't necissarily need the ears to be 6" scale either, but I do need them to be compatible with the 6" Elektra head/hair. Oh, and I want em to look natural, not like a suit,if at all possible. Not Catwoman like. Like a cat girl type thing.

I thought about Forge, but I despise the face sculpt, and the figure is supposed to be young, and more caucasion. Forge I believe is hispanic of some sorts, and he's kinda old. The face sculpt is just completely wrong for what I was looking for. An Angel head would work, but the Angel head already on the figure is too small, and the hair isn't removeable. I like the male head idea I'm doing. I need to work on the female now.

Another issue I have, I need 6" scale Kukri x2. To my knowledge they never made them. The closest I've seen is Aragorn's Knife from LotR. Any ideas as to where I could get a pair of Kukri?

It's not hard to mod a head and make it fit on to whatever neck hole you want. And that's a much better way than just settling on a head just because it fits. Head over to my site and check on my guides here: http://www.jinsaotomesdangeroustoys.com/guides.html

Sculpting small mods on to figures like cat ears is very easy using Fixit Sculpt. That's what I'd reccomend.

I actually went to KMart today and found this littlest pet shop cat that had perfect ears for it, I just hd to trim them down and paint them black. I still need the tail with Tigra next month, so these 2 figures won't be done for a bit.

I got the heads in the mail and pulled the hair off them both. It's gona work, and actually looks pretty nice. I just need to paint the hair red first. And I need a new Angel body, I don't wanna use the one I have that's staying Angel lol.
