Hey fellas,

Don't usually post on this side of the boards( mainly sports), but i came across an orange Grunt at retail today. Saw on ebay that they go for $55 and up. Question is, why are these things so expensive? Just very curious.

Thanks
Tim

They're a good army builder and I think they were shortpacked.

Here's how I heard it.

1 per every 2 cases to WM and TRU. 1 per case for specialty shops. Devide that by 2 colors, you have 1 of each figure per every 4 cases and TRU and WM, 1 per every 2 cases per specialty stores. Add that they have 35 HPs each, are a great army builder, and came with 2 weapons, 1 being the Needler (amazing gun), gives you a recipe for everyone wanting them, and them being hard to come by. I think the Ebay and Amazon prices are way too jacked up. You can usually get one on the boards traded for an exclusive figure or bought for around $30-$40 or so. And they're coming out with more next year of different colors. So if you wanted to buy it to make money, you won't be making much here. And I don't see too many people buying the expensive ones on Ebay or Amazon. You might've got a figure you need that's not so easy to get, but I unno who would trade for it, since I don't go to the Sports board and I unno who does.

I managed to find one below original MSRP for whatever reason and I'd say it's a cool figure and all but if they release a new one even in different colours/with different accessories it's not worth paying that much for IMO. I guess if you're a completionist and you HAVE to have every release then yeah that's about how much they usually go for more or less.

Same reason any figure is expensive, low production of a popular character.

I traded for my 2, 2nd one is in the mail as I type. I didn't pay much either for the first one. The second one though, the figure I traded for it was $30 and then $8 shipping, so it was rather expensive, but still less then Ebay prices.

Thanks for all your input guys. I think i will buy it for one of my sons. All he really collects are the soldiers though so it might be available for trade.
