Well I guess I shouldn't have expected anything special. Credit goes to AoC for suggesting halo figure forums.

What I don't understand is that the collectors get a gold Master Chief, and a bunch of other Active Camo Spartans and Covenants, but still no Active Camo Master Chief (in the 5" series). That would be the only Halo figure (beside the upcoming USNC Soldier) that I would gladly buy. McF, make a AC Master Chief soon!

Well yer not gonna get that confuzzled with the yellow/pale figs that have been released. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna pass. Right now 500 pts are going for 100 BIN on Evilbayz and that's a bit much for a crappy gold.

I got the pick from Spawn Figure Forums where they got it I don't know, but thats a series 2 figure I believe. What annoys me though is two things one this,

Redemption Period Begins Winter 2008
Who could be more fitting as the top reward in the Halo Points program than the star of the Halo trilogy, Master Chief himself? Our regular Chief figures feature Spartan 117 in his distinctive green armor, but this metallic gold version is only available through Halo Points. Figure is fully packaged on a special edition blister card (not yet pictured). Show your devotion to all things Halo with this truly one-of-a-kind trophy.

Hmm thats not special packaging, maybe its a mock up but still.

And then the fact that its just the same gold as that chase God of Rock from Guitar Hero, no fancy chrome like gold.

Not a fan of gold. I'll just be grabbing maybe a couple katanas and a set of the recon armor.

I doubt its fake, seeing as the mock photo of him was on the halo points page, and I don't see any evidence of photo shopping. It better have a halo points value and it better be more than 10.

Same here, maybe this isn't why they have shown any photos in updates cause they knew the reastion was going to be bad. I understand their perspective of making money but jeez at least attempt to make a good looking gold chief.

why not just make your own gold master chief? i dont know what you all were waiting for, it wasnt going to look like the one in the points page, since that image was done in photoshop. just go buy an MC and dip it into a paint bucket. The true prize of the halo points is the recon armor, since its something you cant just make on your own.

Agreed. I'm trying to be a completionist with this as well, and I don't even considerng getting this. It looks so dumb. And I won't call anyone else's collections "incomplete" without it. Recon maybe, but not the gold Chief. Anyone with a can of spray paint or an extra $4 can own one.

I'm also a completist. However, I was really disappointed to discover what this figure is going to be. :(

An AC Chief would have been a much better prize.

It reminds me of the Spawn series 1 gold figures... Anyone else remember those back in the early 90's?

I love special figures.... but NOT when they are all just painted one color that any average customizer can make. :(

Bring on a large scale 24" Master Chief as a Halo Points exclusive!

All you would have to do is paint a red master chief and there ya go. That fig in the picture is not worth all of the points you guys saved. Glad I don't collect those things or I would be more peeved.

Wow. that is rather plain, even for a halo mini...

IMO it'd look better if they just coloured the colour parts, not the entire thing...
(quick repaint... i was really REALLY bored a while ago)

So not worth saving up 500 Halo points for. He should be like 250, max.

I just did some calculations, and it blew my mind.

Each HALO figure averages $12.99 each and is worth 10 points each. That means you would have to spend over $1,300.00 on HALO figures just to get a free gold painted figure. Granted, many of the Series One figures ranged from 10 - 35 points, and the 12" is 40 points, but still. You're still looking at spending almost $1,000.00 for one free figure.

...or did I add that up all wrong?

As someone said - Just paint it gold and you are good to go.
Even better, use Metallic Gold :D It will make it look like 'Gold Chrome'.
