I already got some stuff for the presents with the CC and was counting with that money....

If there are no news next week, I might have to sell some toys, just to keep an affordable balance

TRUE, but I've been with this company for 13 years, and recieved at least a $1,000.00 bonus each & every year. With the economy as it is, my boss is worried about cash flow, so no bonuses. we weren't suprised by the news, but I wish he told us earlier so we could plan our finances.

The economy is getting worse & worse, and after the new year when the retail numbers go into the tank, thousands of more americans will lose their jobs, & for every job that gets whacked, there is another related industry that is affected & someone else gets whacked. Its a horrible trickle down effect and its going to get much worse before it gets better.
Our country is in the worst economic crisis since the great depression of the 20s & 30s, the likes of which many citizens may never recover from.

We get a bonus every year too. Sometimes we get two bonuses, an summer bonus and a Christmas bonus. We didn't get our summer bonus and as slow as our business is, I'm not counting a Christmas bonus either. You do come to count on it every year. Thankfully for this year, I was planning on putting my xmas bonus in savings, four weekends of side work paid for our Christmas:)

Actually, most of their upcoming business will be coming from non-military contracts (at least not from the U.S. government/military). A large portion of these contracts will be from foreign customers (IE: rich Arabs), as well as some from the Canadian military.

we cry together 'cause I've never gotten a bonus in any of my many careers...and I mean many: graphic designer (mainly paste-up for those old enough to know what that is), battery assembly, waiter, bar band, firefighter, haz-mat, emt, and currently teacher.

yeah i didnt get one this year either. the price of gas is what messed up our bonus. and a stupid manger that wanted to cut back the budget 3% when we need a increase of 6% so we all went over budget.

Exactly. Same goes with me. No on should be complaining about bonuses when they actually have cash flow. And i think its pretty sad that people are saying this xmas is going to suck because of the lack of presents. Maybe its time to get back to old times when xmas is about family and being together.

We do not get Christmas bonuses, however we have gotten an annual bonus (usually around March) most years of the 15 years that I have been working for this company.
We found out a few months ago that there would be no year 2008 bonus paid in calendar year 2009.
We just found out today that we will not be getting our annual pay raise or cost of living increase (usually between 3% and 5%).
The bonus this year will be that my job has not been eliminated (yet).

Thank God I received good news......

I will get the bonus !!!

Maybe is not as much as I used to get, but at least it will cover some of my pending bills....


Oh, and I fully agree that having a job is more important, it's just that we were attacked without warning with this economy crisis....
