View Full Version : OT: Advice About X-Mas Present?

Ok, so I'm going to start my X-mas shopping this weekend, and I'm stumped as what to get my older brother. My mom and dad will be easier since either my bro and I will chip in and get them something big together, or ask my bro for advice.

But it's harder to get him something, as I'm not entirely sure what he's into (it changes every now and then). I was thinking about getting him the 1/6 scale TDK Batman figure from Hot Toys, since I know he enjoyed the movie, but he's not really a toy collector (though he does own a couple of toys.) I also know he's learning to play the guitar right now, so maybe I should get him something related to that?

Any feedback from you guys will help me out alot. :)

When in doubt, buy him a gift card.

GH figures? I might as well put coal in my bro's stocking. :D

He used to own a couple of the old Resaurus Street Fighter figures, a few Gundams, and the Hasbro 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime, but as of right now I think he has them in storage. I was thinking maybe if I'd get him a high end collectible, he'd have it on display and everything, especially next to the comic book collection he has.

And yes, if all else fails - gift card. :D

I would get him a Visa Gift Card.

It's the perfect gift that says: "I love you, but I don't know what the hell you want, so buy your own crap."

Haha that was awesome. :D I'll definitely keep that under consideration.

I wouldn't buy him a toy. If the rest are in storage, chances are that were the Batman will end up as well. The guitar thing sounds promising if you can find him something that he could use in relation to that.

yep, sounds like the guitar is the right way to go. Maybe Guitar Center has gift cards? I don't know enough about guitars to offer any suggestions on actual presents

Exactly why I'm hesitant on getting him a Batman figure. It would be cool to get him into toy collecting again though.

Nowhere near as much as me. :p He'd probably get a kick out of those Patlabor and Tetsujin Revoltech's though.

You're right. I'm pretty sure he'll have alot more use for a gift card from Guitar Center than the Batman figure (I'd probably take it from him anyways :D)

Thank you guys for all the advice and everything. I think I'm just going to get him a gift card from Guitar Center, as he would have alot more use for that in the future.

I'll just buy the HT Batman as a X-mas present to myself, haha. :p

But seriously, I really appreciate you guys for helping me come to a final decision. It really helped alot! :)
