View Full Version : Merry Christmas!....from kim at www.spawntoys.com
Hello everyone. I wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season.
I'm sure you have seen on the national news the weather we are experiencing up here in the Pacific NW. We received 7 inches of snow on Thursday this past week. We don't get a whole lot of winter weather up here in Seattle so basically the city shut down for two days because of it.
Today (Saturday) we are suppose to get another winter blast that will bring another 7 to 10 inches of snow and winds upwards of 90 MPH. This is unheard of in our neck of the woods (there are many Seattle area boardies who can attest to that). Needless to say there is a very good chance we will lose power completely...probably through Christmas day:(.
This may be may last opportunity to wish everyone holiday greetings.
It stands to reason if this DOES happen as expected we will be closed through Christmas day at best.
Take care everyone and to those Seattle area boardmembers in particular....be safe...its gonna be an ugly one folks:eek:

We will....my wife and kids have always wanted a white Christmas...they are going to get their wish this year......we could do without the 90 MPH winds....if that happens we are really gonna be screwed up here....

Here in Minneso-cold we are knee deep in snow and it's frickin freezing. Kim, I think a winter-storm madness sale would be in order.:p:)

My order!!!!!!
You better not lose power and delay my $12 purchase, plus shipping! You suck! You have no idea how badly I want to rub my bits on that Joker toy! I'm suing! I'm telling all my friends not to buy from you! You succumb to some wimpy-ass weather and sucker us all out of money and time and....
Yeah, I'll stop there because I'm sure you've gotten at least one of those kinds of emails, but someone had to do it. :D
Stay warm, safe and all that stuff. Don't go sleeping in your backyard. :D

Merry Christmas Kim!!
Thanks everyone!...well today is Sunday (Im typing this from home:))...we DID get the snow (close to 10 inches) but we, thankfully, didn't get the high winds that were expected too....its unbelievable. We have had more snow the past 3 days than the past 20 years total:eek:......the roads are basically shut down...I have a rather large hill leading from my house to the main road......not even gonna attempt it today...I would, more than likely, slide about 50 feet into the middle of the road.........good day to watch football I guess:D
UPDATE: Monday am
Well I made it up to the warehouse today...what a friggin nightmare. I, purposely, left the house at 5:30 am this morning to try and avoid any traffic. Normally, it takes me 15 to 20 minutes to get to the warehouse. This morning?......over an hour. Going home this afternoon is not going to be a picnic either:mad:

Quick question kim
I wasn't able to order a 12" Hydra Dragon in the past few weeks. I'm planning to next week or so. It's still saved in the cart but when I click on the item, the product is not found.
Is the Hydra still available?

Nope...completely sold out (and no more to be had)

Thanks!.....ya the past 3 days have been incredible. We here in the Seattle area don't get much snow on a yearly basis. We, usually, get one blast (if you can call it that) that leaves us with an inch or two of snow that is basically gone in 24 hours (or less). We have had close to 24 inches of snow the past 3 days and its snowing AGAIN this morning. Ive never seen anything like it and Ive lived here over 20 years. The cities around here don't have much snow removal equipment...or atleast not enough to keep up with this.......the local weather geeks are saying this is expected to continue THROUGH Christmas day atleast.......Seatac airport is basically shut down......58 flights were canceled yesterday alone and Im sure most of today's flights will be as well. My brother in law lives in Spokane (about 250 miles from here) and they have received over 4 FEET of snow in the past 3 days.......

I had to take my daughter to volleyball practice at Annie Wright last night (North Tacoma).
One of the most, incredibly, embarrassing experiences in my life.:o. Keep in mind I grew up in Calgary, AB, Canada so it's not like I'm some dude from Miami who has never driven in winter conditions. We are driving up there and there is a a big steep side road that goes down to the gym at Annie Wright. I, obviously, wasnt planning on going down there but there is a parking lot up top and I THOUGHT it was right at the top of this huge road heading down....well, I turned in to the big long steep drive way and basically slid to the bottom.:D...not a snowball's (no pun intended) of getting back up.....so Im sitting there wondering what the hell I am gonna do and these two kids, about 17, stoned out of their minds come walking up. Turns out there is a side street at the bottom that runs on the left side of the tennis court. Perfect....only one problem...this street is about 10 feet wide and to get to the top I gotta go about 60 feet, pretty much straight up. Im going to have to do about 30 MPH to get enough momentum to get over the top A-N-D the road forks and I gotta go left if I wanna make it...GEZZUS KRIST....just what I wanna hear....so I figure what the hell.......I get "old MO" going, get her up to 35 (feels like about 60 MPH) MAKE it up to the top....now Im in a residential area with friggin hills EVERYWHERE:eek:.....i spent close to a half an hour driving around trying to find a side street that wasnt straight, friggin, UP that I could make it back up to Tacoma Ave.....of course all the OTHER parents were smart enough to park at the top of the hill on Tacoma Ave...not me......one of those brain fart moments everyone experiences I guess.
Needless to say I took a lot of (good natured) crap from the parents when I finally walked in to practice (about 45 minutes after practice started)
