Did they clinch way too early or are they who we think they are? :D

Are they a one and done team? I like to think so.....I can't remember a team this bad going into the playoffs after clinching....

They are NOT a good team. They play in a horrible division..

they're a good team with an above average offense and sub-par defense. they've benefited from being in a crappy division. i think they're not mentally there right now and still think they're "the same ol Cardinals" sometimes. they didn't even show up yesterday, and i really don't think they wanted to. they were just going to use the snow and cold as their excuse if they lost anyway. i don't think they're mentally tough enough to be in that upper eschelon of teams yet. they don't do well playing from behind, and have a really tough time recovering from mistakes. if they play mistake free football, then i think they can beat anyone. that just doesn't happen very often in this league...

They are the beneficiaries of a down division, but not a very balanced team either. Their passing game is obviously great, but they can't run the ball and their D is suspect. Right now it looks like they will host either the Panthers or the Falcons (whichever does not win the South). They stand no chance against the Panthers and I think the Falcons probably win too.

Mike Sando (the ESPN NFC West blogger) actually brought up the possibility of ranking the Cards below the Niners in this weeks power rankings, not that it means much, but just goes to show that they are benefiting from a down division.

Keep in mind that they are a competent play call by the Niners at the end of the MNF game away from being in a battle for the division (not that I'm not bitter about that play call).

it's sad that they're in the playoffs and the Cassel led Pats could be out at 11-5.

That's the way it is, win your division...bottom line...any other year 11-5 is a division winner. I like it this way though, makes teams play harder for that wild card spot...;)

I mean wouldn't it be sadder if you win your division and don't make the playoffs despite your record.....that wouldn't make sense imo...

This year's playoffs will see two of the worst playoff teams in history (Cardinals and Broncos/Chargers- both 8-8 probably) while the AFC will probably have a 11-5 team and a couple of 10-6 teams miss the playoffs.

Arizona is the only current playoff team with a NEGATIVE point differential. Sad thing is, the division could be won with a 7-9 record. If the Browns or Bills (or even the Texans) were in that division, they would have won it straight out.

Cardinals benefited from the worst division in NFL history.

The current system is fine. It is rare that 4 teams are collectively that bad in a division. Crazy thing is, i could see Atlanta tripping up in the playoffs and actually having a tough time against Arizona. Warner likes domes and would probably have a good game.

Arizona in the second round...........sad statement for the NFC.

Good team. Would be better if they can pick up brandon jacobs next year. wife works for the cards and said they are definately going to try and get jacobs. and a possible LB. They clinched to early and got lazy. I think they will win at home. Don't forget they beat dallas and SHOULDA beat the Panthers. They still lost but they can still compete with the power houses, unless snow is involved lol. GO CARDS!!!!!

The Cards are just an average team. They benefited a ton by the division they played in.Give them credit for taking care of business but if they were in the NFC East or South they could easily be in last place.
