The dictionary tells me that "action figures" are also dolls. Face it you all play with dolls. Well I don't that much because transformers are not dolls. ;)

1: a small-scale figure of a human being used especially as a child's plaything

based on the two which would you say it is closer too in item format???

Lmao he actually compared something to a Tonner doll. Nothing Tonner makes looks good so it's not fair to be closed minded and basing it off of one company. The whole people don't like dolls thing was because clothing always looks ridiculous on the figs and the face sculpts looked way too fake to blend in well with the clothing. With companies like HT, it's a whole new ballgame. You can't actually tell me TDK MM Joker looks better than this (not my pic):

When you compare it to this which looks closer to the item format???

Not trying to make this a Joker thread, but this proves that "dolls" can look much better and more realistic if done right than figures.

Don't know what happened to the picture of after world war three doll but I left the link

Actually, the term 'action figure' was coined for the first Gi Joe toyline, which were 12-inch dolls with removable clothes and fuzzy beards.... The term was used to draw boys to a toyline of dolls without linking them to products aimed at girls. So no, dolls aimed at boys are "action figures".

forgive me if its been said, but the term action figure was a marketing ploy to get little boys to buy dolls, GI joes in the 60s I beleive.
