Here is the list of players playing in the Young Guns game:

NEW YORK - Steve Mason (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=5881) has earned a pretty tough assignment for the NHL's YoungStars Game.
He'll be in goal for the rookie team against a sophomore squad that has plenty of scoring talent.
Nicklas Backstrom (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=5531), Devin Setoguchi (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=4990) and Bryan Little (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=4337) headline the sophomore team for the three-on-three matchup that will be played Jan. 24 in Montreal - the day before the all-star game.
The YoungStars Game should be a wide-open affair, making the job tough for Mason and sophomore goalie Erik Ersberg (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=6076).
The rookie team is anchored by a pair of 19-year-old defencemen - Luke Schenn (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=6496) and Drew Doughty - and will be led by forwards Kris Versteeg (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=4566), Blake Wheeler (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=4852) and Patrik Berglund (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=5665).
Also earning forward spots for the freshman are James Neal (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=5322), Michael Frolik (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=5532), Mikkel Boedker (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=6551) and Steven Stamkos (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=6554).
The sophomore blue-line will be patrolled by Marc Staal (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=4342) and Kris Letang, while Andrew Cogliano (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=4994), Milan Lucic (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=5769), Brandon Dubinsky (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=4407) and Mason Raymond (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=4763) round out the forward unit.
This will be the sixth YoungStars Game, but the first using the rookie-sophomore format.

I guess they took Lucic from Boston over Krecji

meh, this game never did anything for me, but didn't the actual ASG goalies used to play in this?

Last year for sure and maybe the year before, mainly due to no rookie goalies. I like the Freshman vs Sophmore angle

The freshman vs sophomore angle is a nice added touch. Might be worth watching now.

Now if they'd only have the skills competition have the fastest skater and hardest shooter from every team, that would be great.

I imagine they had to chose one or the other, so Cogliano was the chosen one

I doubt that. You probably wont see any hard hitting in a 3 on 3 game.

Normally no but that is a HUGE part of Milan Lucic's game. It is what has made him a cult hero in Boston. He is a unique player and I wouldnt be suprised if he lights someone up against the boards if a player gets caught against one.

Never...

Although Lucic should have a miriad of opportunities as players will be skating a fast pace rec game, I highly doubt that he'd throw any kind of a major hit even if it presented itself to him on a platter. It would be heavily frowned upon. The ASG is about scoring and finesse. If someone were to get hurt in a meaningless game it would leave a huge black mark on the event.

**Gagner may have lost some of his glitter, but he's still just 19. Look no further than Jordan Staal for a shining example of a teenage sophmore slump. He'll rebound and I wouldn't be surprised to see him in a real ASG one day. He's got skills and his play has increased as of late. His defensive game has also improved. If only MacTavish would utilize more often with Eric Cole we'd definately see better offensive stats. Too bad our coach sucks balls.

This game is the worst display of hockey you will ever see. No one hit anyone in this game. They all play suck hole and try to score and even doing that you can tell they are more interested in groupies on hand than playing in this game.
