Dolls?

I've noticed lots of boardies spending several hundred dollars on these Hottoys dolls. It looks like they have lots to be released this year, so how much will you spend on dolls this year?

$0. I don't buy high end, and I don't buy dolls. Might change if HT Raiden goes on clearance at some point. But I doubt it ever will, and that still would be up in the air.

Now action figures, I can't even begin to imagine. Around $100 a piece on each Halo wave at least. Then there's ML, and DCU, and Star Wars, and the Halo extra stuff...

If I have the extra cash I might buy me some of those BOME statues, or some BOME-esk statues though...

D&R charges $20 US + shipping. The scout is a worldwide exclusive, good luck getting that for less than 40. I'll rely on my friends here and elsewhere to get me the other exclusives (stupid Canada). I'm looking at probably at least $150-180 for this series. Bah.

Probably $120 for all of them (at least). Then the exclusives and extras... Probably another $150 there at least (I said many marines). And that's just the two series, not counting the hunter, the mongoose, the helmets, 12''ers, heroic packs... Ugh... This is depressing me. I'm going to bed. Good night.

just ordered the P1 Predator last night. That will be my first and probably last Hot Toys purchase. I can't justify regularly spending $150-200 on one figure, but I figured I'd splurge and get my favorite movie creature design.

I'm looking at the Hot Toys MK1 Iron Man, a couple of Spawn resin statues, and we'll see what else comes around. If McF makes Spawn 36 into statues I'll bite....unless they get cancelled. :eek:
I'm pretty much out of the action figure scene right now, moving on to higher end stuff...statues, busts, and the ocassional Hot Toys figure. NECA might do a couple of movie figures I might like, McF stuff is garbage right now, and the rare DC figure like World of Warcraft or DC superheros.

that's similar to what I did for Cloverfield. I don't regret it, but I tried to spend as little time dwelling on that choice because of how much of a contrast it is to my normal purchasing decisions.

Hard to tell. It all depends on what else Hot Toys and Sideshows throws out. I gave up mass market figures and a lot of the import stuff like the bandai S.I.C. which were realy expensive. So far from Hot Toys I have the Mark III, Hellboy, and Sapien on pre-order plus I be picking up the Predator 1 and some of their true type bodies for sure. And this is without counting what they haven't anounced yet. I'm sure HT is going to pick up line for the new Terminator Movie and that is going to be a nice show.

yup your right just did a quick count on me small halo figures and almost had heart attack. 151 figures not including the 12 inch figures.

I've got the Sideshow Life Size Iron Man bust that should arrive at my house on Monday. I've also got the Hot Toys Mark III armor on preorder. I have the Sideshow Green Scar vs. Silver Savage and LOTR Gandalf vs. Balrog dioramas on preorder. I also plan on buying the McFarlane 12" Barry Sanders and the Guitar Hero Slash figures and any other real musicians that McFarlane makes from the GH game.

At the same time, I'll be getting rid of most of the rest of my collection. I feel like I'm spending too much on cheap toys. I'll buy a few nice statues to decorate my game room, but that's it. I already have too many figures that I can't even give away.

I don't think the problem is that he and us "doll" collectors don't want them to be "dolls" it's more that you people want them to be dolls so much! ;)
