I really didn't like the way Marvel Zombies turned out, so this just feels like a cop-out move on DC's part. But then again, it's not like Marvel has the zombie-thing trademarked or anything. I gotta see what DC does with this story.

They're more like demons or deadites. They are intelligent and really evil and they dont eat brains.
Plus, DC is doing this in their main universe. No ***** alternate dimensions to cover the story consquenecs.

Zombies are overated
Spelling is overrated.
Seriously though, there's nothing wrong with zombies as long as it's done correctly.

You know, DC's Mr. Mxyzptlk occasionally gives some hints about him being the same characters as Impossible Man (Fantastic Four character) in Marvel. Like, when he changes his appearance into something that looks like the Impossible Man, or when he says he met some "new fantastic friends", or he's off "playing with his other 4 friends". Would be kinda funny if the infection came from that ;)

It's gonna be soooooooooooooooo good. It's not a ripoff of the Marvel's zombie craze, it's an important plot point of the "Blackest Night" storyline in the Green Lantern comics. Basically the deal is any dead person in the DC universe can come back to life as a Black Lantern and wreak havoc. I normally stick to Marvel and don't really read much DC stuff (but Marvel's been losing me lately...), but I do read "Green Lantern". Not to be overly dramatic, but it's pretty much the greatest superhero comic ever. It's like "Star Wars" meets "Law & Order" meets "The X-Files", with a massive injection of unfiltered awesome.

I love green lantern and what Johns has done with it is awesome. I haven't bought a figure in over a year but I might have to pick these up. I think it is mental that DCDirect has already spoiled who two of the black lanterns are going to be but I pretty much assumed they would be anyway.
