If so, once you have the artwork, how do you print on cardstock? Or do you print on paper and glue it to cardstock (and cut it down to proper size)?

Any help would be appreciated.

i would say print it on cardstock, but thats just my 2 cents. the custom cards i've seen were done that way. hell try them both!

My follow up question with that would be how to make my laserjet print on cardstock without jamming.

I use full sheet labels and cardstock to make custom cards. I've never had any luck trying to run cardstock thick enough for cardbacks through a printer without it getting jammed.

Same here. And trying to use glue to stick things onto anything never works. Or if it works in the beginning, it only lasts for a few weeks at best. It just doesn't work, you get air pockets, the edges lift up...it will not stick for long.

I would use a high quality semi-gloss paper and then some adhesive spray mount to glue it onto the thicker board. If you use a comic backer board sandwiched between to quality pieces of paper you should get a decent thickness and look.
