I was wondering if anyone else is having issues with the articulation being ultra shotty to the point where there is breakage...for me i have bought a few of these and the bicep point is always crap...usually the don't break but tonight i finally got wave 6 and went to simply pose them and all was fine except Captain Marvel and Killer Moth not only was there a layer of plastic keeping the arm from moving down but it just snapped off at the bicep...then the same for Shazam...his isn't broke off completely but it's about to go...this is really irritating consider how much these cost at walmart and how hard these are to find here...i just wondered if anyone else has this problem...oh and how rare are Moth and Marvel?...

here are some pics of Killer Moth

I've only had thigh problems, and only with Nightwing, the figure I wanted and paid most for. I haven't had any other DCUC issues with breakage, thankfully. Sorry for your trouble.

UPDATE: Mr. Miracle's leg is about to come off...yay.

Are you really rough on them? I don't know why they would be breaking easier for you.

Its the same sticking joint issue as with Halo figures, I would suggest trying to call mattel or take back the figure before you can't. DCUC are way harder to fix compared to Halo.

Don't force them. All you do when you force them is twist the plastic to the point of breakage. Put them in the freezer for a bit, which hardens the plastic, allowing you to put more torque on it.

That's the big issue of articulation, my suggestion is before move anything throw the figure in a warm water pot, for about three minutes, this will turn the plastic bendy, this will help to move the joints without break them.

I think the Man-Bat they released has a similar problem. Thankfully of the few DC figs I've bought, I've not had any breakage yet.

That sucks. You'll be getting your 18" NECA Jason soon so that should cheer you up. :)

Yes, whenever I have had sticky joints I used a hairdryer to heat the area before bending it. So far it has worked wonderfully 100% of the time for me. Perhaps if there is any malformed plastic it will become soft and move clear when you move the joint.

I had the paint issue on my Despero. As far the the arm joint breaking I had that problem on a few female Marvel Legends figures.

UPDATE: Mr. Miracle's is now an amputee.

BTW...i am not rough with these...the cold warm thing does not, well did not work in this case...they were mailed to me...so they were in the cold all day...they were practically frozen when i opened them...the arm on Moth is clearly not formed right...and Shazam's bicep was twisted the wrong way in the package all i did was turn it around...

3 out of 5 in this case is BAD.

I've not gotten any broken joints yet but I do have lots of stuck ones and series 1 Orion has a backwards calf.

I bet that one hurt. She's so hard to find and expensive right now. Replacing her would be a *****.

Did you buy em off Ebay? Where did you buy him from? Maybe thats why they sent it to you, cause it was a bad batch, and the people didn't wanna deal with it...

I JUST broke my Astonishing masked Wolvie at the left bicep. Right under the shoulder where it twists around, I broke the peg off inside the arm. I've had the figure for like a year, and he just randomly broke as I was changing his pose. So I glued the peg back on the arm (can't use a screw or reinforce it with metal, the joint is to small and it would make his shoulder unmoveable) and carefully trimmed the peg down on the outsides so it doesn't put alot of pressure on it when I twist it, and popped it all back together. I have to be careful with him, or the peg will snap off again. But at least he has full mobility for the moment.

I have to repair about 20% of my DCU figs because of this. It's an easy fix tho. Snag a screw with a short shaft and head the same size as the plug (get the old plug out by heating the arm up with a hairdryer and prying it out with a mini screwdriver) drill a hole, superglue the threads, and presto, new peg. The GI Joe leg screws might be the same size, can't remember, I just have a bin of loose screws I collect from everything.

Bought both Supes from this wave. No problems with them either. Maybe I'm lucky, I've had very few Halo figure problems as well, and I know alot of people who have had alot of issues with Halo. I do know how to unstick fused joints well. I just sometimes don't realize its fused till its too late and it broke already lol.

Jin, you wouldn't happen to have pic of this method or the screw you suggest?

yeah, i got both Supes too NO PROBLEMS there...i just noticed hawkman is messed up too i noticed...his leg is like glued in place or something...

i guess, if i wanted to buy DCD figures i should just do that...i mean for 12 bucks i can spend another 4 and get quality with the same amount available articulation...

on the plus side...i found Moth and Miracle at WM tonight...the busted ones will find their way back to WM...

it's wrong, i know...but you got to do what you go to do.

It's not wrong. Someone had to buy em from the manufacturer at one point. It's just sending the defected ones back to where they came from, and getting yours replaced, without having to repay for them. Doesn't matter where you bought it.

It would be wrong if say you replaced it with another figure, or something, in the package. Or took some of the stuff out of the package (on purpose), like the BAF piece or something. And even that BAF piece is a thin line. Cause all they're gonna do is send it back to the manufacturer, call it defective, and pitch it. If there's nothing wrong with the BAF, why waste it?

Now say you bought the figure, nothing wrong with it, THEN took it back with no BAF piece. That is wrong.

And DCD doesn't have the same articulation, and they're a larger scale. I don't like them personally. I only want Superboy since they're not making one DCUC, and I got GL Batman cause he probebly won't come out DCUC either, and he's staying MOC.

haha, it's not technically wrong... ;)

oh, i know...the DCD is way different. i was just saying with my luck with the articulation not working on the 12 dollar figures...i might as well spend an extra 4 and at least know i wont be getting any articulation...:p

I edited that after you quoted lol. I added to it a little. And yea, thats my beef with DCD, the scale and no articulation. And since I've had little problems with DCUC, I will stick with them for quite some time. I think you just got a bad batch and got ****ed by someone if you bought them online. The line is really good. It has me buying figures I told myself I wouldn't (Capt. Atom, Aquaman, Black Manta, maybe Mr. Miracle, Shazam). So I don't think you shoud give up on it yet.

Lol. Thanks. Yea, I can feel the plastic being cheap. But, not much they can do with all the new rules and crap. I just hope it doesn't last and they start using better plastic. ML did the same thing. I like the articulation better in these though, as well as the skulpts. Hasblow needs to take a lesson out of the Mattel book as to how to skulpt a figure lol.

So, it could always get worse. ;)
