New York Comic Con 2009 Thread

of course, more stuff will probably be unveiled at toyfair

considering the state of the economy, I'm guessing NY Comic Con and Toy Fair are going to be a shadow of their former selves...

That said, I'll be watching www.figures.com for coverage and photos - unlike the last five years, I won't be going to either show this year...

If you're into Star Wars, possibly spoilers on a couple of the Solo children figures. It's just a rumor though. That Clone Turbo Tank will most likely be their centerpiece this time, like the AT TE was last year. Other than that, I hope we see some new Marvel Legends, or have a REAL release date for the ones already supposed to be on the pegs. As well as some cool DCUC stuff. And I hope TMP puts some produtcion stuff of the Mongoose or Warthog up, as well as any anouncements on new stuff for the second half of the year (new Grunts, new Elites, new Brute forms, ect...)

I had read an interview with someone from Mattel, and they had stated that they will be showing their new DC related stuff at NYCC and not showing anything extra at Toy Fair.

I can't seem to find that link now, but I look forward to seeing pictures and reports start rolling in today!

I was going to go to this today, seeing that I live about 8 miles from the Jacob Javits Center, but I just can't justify the cost. It's $30 a ticket and $8 to go over the bridge or through the tunnel. Then there is parking, food, and whatever I want to purchase at the Con.

That's a good $100 to $200 day and that is just too much.

It didn't help that I turned on CNBC this morning and saw that some 650,000 people lost their jobs in January and the head of Pimpco said that Americans are in "preservation" mode. Kinda scary.

Anyone else think the cost of going to one of these conventions is just too high?

the is the first year im not going. my buddy dropped out which means id have to drag my girlfriend with so im not bored by myselft. and at 40 a ticket plus 30 per for a bus ticket i would have spent 140 before i even went into the show. just couldnt justify it. plus no good exclusives, and no one special signing meant it wasnt worth it to me.

I heard they were gonna be pre-evil Jacen days. When they were training to be Jedi. But that's what I heard. I think it was Rebel Scum that had some concept skulpts. Possible pre-production works half done. But I don't remember. My dad showed it to me when I was at his house a week ago or so.

Why? They suck. Hard core. I want ML back. Altough, Hasbro sucked the life out of that line too. But, if they kept doing better, like they were near the end, it would definintly pick up again. I still haven't seen the missing waves yet though. Wonder what's up with that...
