Kobe hits 61, LeBron hits s 52 w. Trip Double, last night's Laker victory, Kobe went off with threes etc......

Do you think they are consciously doing this and thinking about the other? I think so...very entertaining.....

I hate LeBron James.
He'll NEVER be as good as Kobe.
Never.
The more the NBA tries to shove him down my throat, the more I want to throw him up.
It is very entertaining though.

No love for Lebron . The guy is a beast. Someone please explain to me why Kobe is better than Lebron. If Shaq wasn't on the team those years Kobe would never have a championship. He won't have one this year either now that Bynums down and out.

You can literally say that about every great player that ever played, they all had that guy who helped and Shaq would not have a ring without Kobe and D-Wade. See how that works...haha...:D

No Scottie, no rings for MJ, I mean come on, one man has NEVER and WILL NEVER make a team !!!

Oh, and if I want a dunk or a uncontested lay-up, then I call Lebron. I need a clutch 3 pointer at the end of the game, I call Kobe.

.

eh, a case COULD be made for Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell.......both of those guys dominated the game during their era......

but that was pretty much because they were a good two feet taller than everyone else....lol

but for THIS question I would have to go with lebron being the better player......I base that purely on if they played 1 on 1 I truly believe Lebron would just make kobe look foolish.

Dear NEWYORK3 You have got to be kidding me!!! LeBron ALREADY is better than Kobe - sure, Kobe scores 61 - BUT he shoots 31 times to do it. LeBron can score at will and is a better assist man, rebounder, team leader and is every bit as good defensively.

Who cares? Kobe is better then Lebron and has been the best player in the NBA for the last 5 years or so. Kobe's shooting ability, defense and will to win makes him that level above what Lebron is right now.

Lebron will never be the best player in the NBA until he improves his outside game.

Kobe's the best in the league no doubt. But TONS of people see Lebron as the second coming, and I cant stand that, if I was 6'8" and had as much muscle and crap as him I could do the same thing: Drive and Dunk.

Um hello, Lebron has no rings either?? And this is about the "best player" not about how they win championships, which Kobe has and Lebron hasn't. Again, best player, which is Kobe.

Right there is the key word: PLAYER.

yeah, PLAYER, someone who can make a big shot every night and put the team in a position to win, assists are an overrated stat when deciding best player, you can pass it all night but if your team doesn't make the shot you get no assist. Kobe is the greatest in the game today, too many people dont like him for no reason at all, or because he's just THAT good.

Um, wow dude. Ok, Kobe scores 61- shoots 31 times to do it...ok, lets check. Lebron scores 52- AND SHOOTS 33 times with only one less foul shot during the game.

Oh, and Kobe did it in 36 minutes, Lebron, like 44..

LBJ - Championship Rings = 0
KB#24 - Championship Rings = 3

People really tend to forget about that simple probem.

If I'm not mistaken by this time in KB career he was working on ring #2.
Right?

LBJ been to the finals once and was man handled!

Then for those of you that want to talk about today, or keep it in the now.

It goes back to the one simple problem RINGS!

Nothing else matters.

I understand why KB has haters out there... How many times has your favorite team been done by the GREAT #24!

That's why you guys hate the man so much, but it's all good!

Take a juggle! ;):D

WRONG!!!!

Kobe #24 = 0 Rings.......

Kobe #8 has 3:p;):D

and give Lebron the Supporting cast Kobe has had throughout his career, and I would be willing to bet the balance would be tipped quite a bit.

after all this is a 12 man sport, this isn't golf.....there is not ONE man on this planet that can win an NBA Championship by himself.

That excuse is going to come to an end. Then the next thing will be because he didn't win 6 as the team catalus.

Yet and still people believe after all this time he has something to prove other than getting that next ring.

Wow.

You put a monster like Shaq on a team with a megastar the likes of Kobe and we've already seen what happens. They turn into the dang phone company.

Ring. Ring. Ring.

Same could be said for D-Wade, albeit just for one year.

Put the big diesel on the same team with LBJ and it'd be the same dang case.

Kobe came really dang close last year, but got the unlucky duty of running into that green colored chainsaw called the Celtics *which I could go on about THAT team too, but that's another debate for another time*. IF he ever wins one without Shaq, THEN let's talk.

Kobe Bryant is the greatest player in the NBA. He's Michael Jordan good.

Lebron is "like mike." He's a great player and heck, I find that his 52 points was much more impressive than Kobe's 61 because the defense knew he was gunning for it. I don't think anybody really thought he'd be able to just go out there and say, "Okay let's try for 62 tonight."

That's skill right there... But he kind of seems to slow down by the end of the regular season IMO. Whist, still dangerous, he isn't really a weapon in the postseason.

Kobe on the other hand is clutch as all hell and sizzles in the post season. The only problem was that the defense would catch on last year, double team him, and basically that would shut down the team.
----
If Gilbert Arenas was healthy then I would rank him 2, but right now It's Kobe THEN LBJ.

LeBron not really a weapon in the post season:confused::confused::confused:. Are u kidding me????? He is the absolute weapon in the post season. The guy does it all for the Cavs. U need him to handle the ball-he does it, u need him to score a big basket-he does it, u need him to rebound-he does it. The guy is 6'9 250 and plays with the finesse of Magic Johnson and has the skill of some of the finest players in NBA history.

Now Gilbert Arenas the second best player behind Kobe:confused::confused::confused:.
You've got to be out of ur mind. That guy is a complete waste. For one thing Washington seems to play better without him. You can't be that great if ur team plays better without u.

When LeBron wins the MVP this year we can rehash this talk :)

I'd take Lebron over Kobe at this point. LBJ is only like 23 or 24, Kobe is what 30? The fact that they are even comparable right now you should go with the player who has yet to reach their prime. LBJ is bigger and stronger and is IMO more versatile in that he can play the 2,3 and 4 at 6'9, creating mismatches. While Kobe has a better jumper and is a better pure scorer, let's give LBJ 3 years yet and see what he does. At this point Kobe may be better, but Lebron James is definitly catching up, plus Kobe has peaked for the most part. Also, keep in mind Lebron led that misfit Cleveland team to the finals by himself, Kobe and his bums had to wallow in mediocrity before Pau Gasol came around and they finally made the finals.
