FIRST LOOK - McFarlane Toys Halo Helmets ON 12-Inch Spartans!!

Full disclaimer: I gave the red CQB and red EOD helmets a blackwash to better fit with the look of the custom-painted 12-Inch Red Spartan MADDOG did for me. Likewise, I painted the Cyan EVA Helmet a royal blue to match the Wal-mart exclusive 12-Inch Blue Spartan.

IMHO, these are great helmets and they display really well on the stands as well as on the figures.

My only complaint - where's the 12-inch Spartan figures to match the helmet colors?
I don't see these selling near as well w/o the bodies (or armor) to match... :(

yeah - I ONLY collect the 12-inch Halo and have been waiting for these helmets for a while just so I could accessorize these figures - can't wait to get more now :D :D

Those are awesome. Yes, the initial helmets released should have been the Blue, Brown, and Green to match the current 12 set.

yeah not a big fan, but I love the different armor for the halo figs and the helmets are sweet, mostly i am not a big fan because i have never really played...i have tried the 1st once...now i sound lame

AGREED! Hopefully McFarlane will figure this out as the 12" Spartans seem to have sold well in my area. In fact, they're sold out everywhere I go - none at Wal-mart, none at TRU...:o:mad: Had to order another 12-inch Blue Spartan from someone here at Spawn.com :(

McF needs to work "round the clock" to make some more body's in the basic colors, and get out some shoulder / chest armor asap - in the mid year timeframe.

It would really suck if the helmet sales fail because there aren't the right colored bodies & armor to go with them.

The Blue EVA helmet is a custom painted helmet. It was formerly the Cyan (light blue) EVA helmet that I repainted with royal blue paint, applied a blackwash, and a silver ink pen (for that "worn" armor paint look).

The full "Blue Set" doesn't come out until May.

I think this will be a big winner for McFarlane as the Blue 12-inch Spartan is available and thus this ALL BLUE set allows fans to make their own "Blue Team" consisting of a CQB, EOD, and Rogue...

Ah...Missed it, as usual. Same goes for the energy sword and pistols that were with my Koto Steel Spartan. They both work with the 12 inch...however the sword looks really stubby and wimpy.

I'm not really a Halo game fan either - heck, I've never played the game; but I'm reading the books now (which are pretty good - especially Eric Nylund's work!). I've always been a fan of sci-fi armored guys and the BIGGER the better IMHO :)

I like how it looks...just wish it were a tad bit longer, perhaps I can change i later on down the road. Although, he doesn't have a real good grip on it...as I basically pretty much rested it in his hand.

You sold me on getting a CQB head! I did not like the head on the 5 inch line. The white hayabusa head wow that looks uhhh odd..

The cyan EVA head needs a wash to darken it. I am not sure why they did a cyan and not a blue EVA head. Thanks for showing us more money i got to spend now. :)

Those are nice colors man, good work on matching them up.

As much as I want to get behind the helmets...I just can't. Without the armor they look incomplete. They're sitting flat on a base, woo. Would have been so much cooler if they were on an armor stand with the chest piece/shoulders. And I would of bought the whole set, multiple 12" figs, the works. Just so I could have one of each Spartan. Here they're just a bunch of floating heads.

The 12-inchers definitely deserve an armor/weapons pack instead of these silly helmets with stands. I'm glad there will be bodies to attach to these heads at least.

I'll probably pick up the set with the Chief's head because mine needs a replacement. Some of the paint on the visor was coming off.

When I saw the Carbine and the Battle Rifle at GameStop today I grabbed one of each (for only 99 cents each), along with thier last Halo fig (Series 1 exclusive, wow!). I love the look of them in the toy's hands. Anyway, where'd you get the sword and the Pistol? Are they also replicas?

I also agree with both of you. I do customs so i love the idea of the heads. I know after i do enough i will be bummed there are no plans for armor addons in the near future. I have no clue what they were thinking doing heads only. I know most people will not buy these and the people that do only a limited amount. The true halo collector will grab them all through.

I hope mcfarlane is listening and release some armor addons!
