I was at the showroom today, and saw them. Adrian Peterson, Payton Manning and Hines Ward will round out the assortment.

The biggest problem I have is knowing all of these players just like almost every nfl player wore different equipment and sometimes different facemasks(like Tom Brady for one) in college than they did in the pros and makes theys repaints just look terribly inaccurate.

Hey now...At this point...why bother if you're mcfarlane.com?
Hey let's create a free message board for our customers. Why we're at it.. let's do exclusives for the customers.
We'll give you a place to trade our toys, a place to talk about sports in general, a place to talk about toys in general, a place to talk about movies and music and video games too!
Now what do we get as a company?
Flame wars and such then take place. Forget we're in a flat out terrible recession. These boardies need their toys and if they don't get them welcome to the apocalypse!!!!!
;)
Chugga you've been a mainstay on these boards for awhile now. You've used them to give good advice, start fantasy leagues, to be a funny guy and to help others like you've helped me.
You of all people should know in this recession and during hard times if this board is going to remain and be a "cool" place... the last thing we need is for great boardies to fall into the category of malice and bitterness.
I think NOW is the time we need to start asking how we can help make a difference. How can we help keep plastic toys that we love as grown men afloat? What can we do to let the company know we fully support it while many people lose their jobs.
In The Great Depression our grandparents starved. Many people died. This is our generations depression. And we answer it by taking the time to type. On the internet!!!
This is my plea to make hard times alot better by being positive. If you can live in a depression and still take the time to buy Blu Rays... is it really that bad? (I know some of us cant and many of us have kids or jobs lost...but we still have threads about it on here and we like to post our opinions about anything and everything)
We need to stop biting the hand that feeds us and start doing what we can as boardies to make this place a better place.
A hot girls thread would be nice :)

Great advice, Cowboysfan. Ask not what your toy company can do for you. Ask what hot chicks your toy company would like to look at too!

It's funny how guys whine and cry for these for years, they finally get made and every just picks them apart because they are not accurate enough, it's not the player they wanted.
Be glad you got them at all. If you expected them to be anything more than repaints then you haven't been following this company for the last 5 years.

Ask not what your toy manufacturer can do for you, ask what you can do for your toy manufacturer!!!
I think the college line could bring back life to the entire line of ALL sportspicks. Fact is, if they are selling more products, they are making more money. More money means less of these cutbacks and shortcuts that have made recent lines disappointing. I support this move by TMP 110%.

All QBs wear the same facemask and all HBs wear the same facemask. TMP has done extensive research on this point and all findings to the contrary are "tweaks."

Even if they are not accurate and they did not make a Gators figure, these will be the first full series I will have bought in the past 3 years

Good Job McFarlane! I know that some things are not accurate with the figs, but it is a big improvement over those horrible figs we see now in the stores. I see that we're getting the old bases back! and it seems no more plastic color pants!
Thank you for trying and like CowboysFan said, lets keep the positive attitude going!

My only hope is that they make players who may have not had a great NFL career, but lit it up in College (IE Archie Griffin, Mike Rozier, etc...) Regardless, these are going to be awesome. Best investment TMP could have made!

It might be hard to do, with rights and all that legal crap. Could you imagine the boxsets.

Florida Great Qb's (Spurrier, Whurfful, Tebow)
USC Boxset (Leinert, Bush, Palomalu)

If you want to dream about figures, think about NFL players that have already been made and the repaints they can do. There won't be any original figures in this line ever. Just repaints. So as long as the player has a figure, there is potential for a college figure.
Likely players under the NFL agreement have a better chance of being made versus Legends as those agreements are for specific figures.

I can see people buying Ray Lewis and Tom Brady, but who would want a JaMarcus Russell?
Is there that much interest in a college football line?

Awesome, but come on, JaMarcus Russell over a UT Vince Young? If McFarlane is so afraid of pick players that might not sell so well, do they have any idea of how many rich bastards revolve around Longhorns football? Not only this, but completely passing up the USC market, another gold mine of rich people with too much money. I swear they pick players by throwing a ton of names in a hat, it's getting pathetic, especially with the 2009 NFL SP series if the lists are true. Todd, are you running the company on interns?

i'm not sure but it is possible that certain teams might have some say in how they're marketed by the ncaa, either that or tmp is just holding off on usc players right now, they can't make everyones favorite right away, they have to hold out some big names for future series to help sell them.i'll be curious to see how the liscencing with the ncaa works. also i really hope they go back to the old bases and clamshells for this series,i'll buy cases again if they do,if not ill probably just buy a couple figures from each series.

correct me if i'm wrong, but in college most teams don't wear full length socks, correct? that was my biggest concern going into this line and it looks as if the existing socks are just going to be painted over.

How about 90,000 LSU Fans? I know i will sell the hec out of any LSU player or SEC player..
College is king in the south and at any successful program, so as long as that player had a good college career or led his team to a national title, he will sell..

thankfully it,s an all U.S. line.!!
why all the fuss,
i wonder if a line of O.H.L or the W.H.L or even the Q.M.J.H.L would be as so hyped up!
