I have him and I think he's great...I say don't listen to anyone here, open the thing up and make up your own mind. The only issue I have with Dinobot is I woulda liked a bit more natural head/neck joint. It's a pretty impressive figure if you ask me.

It's not a waste of money if you like them, regardless of what these guys are saying.

I like both of them, Cheetor is...different (I can see where they took some Beast Machines cues on his design), but at least his beast mode looks like a cheetah.

Dinobot is so much love compared to the original nix colors, but that's what Henkei is for.

Strange as it sounds, Dinobot was my grail figure back 10+ years ago when the show came out. I was so damn jealous that my cousin got one, lol

I'd love to pick up this re-issue....but too bad a toy store is thousands of miles away.

Check your spelling, no "e" on popular. Anyway, Dinobot was a Predacon, first. Helped Megatron steal the golden disk, then defected and became a Maximal, wanted to take over but after Optimus saved his life he joined with them. Afterwards he saved the human race by destroying the golden disk and saving a tribe of early humans. Dying of his unhealed wounds. Megatron cloned him creating Dinobot 2, using Rampages spark to host the part of the essence of Dinobot. When Megatron tried to win the Beast Wars he ordered Dinobot to fire on the tribe, which triggered his memory before his first death, he then defected again, and defied Megatron, to which he went down with the shipped and died again. He is the best TF character in Beast Wars because he is honorable and conflicted because of he siding with the Predacons, and then being a Maximal. Its all very complicated, go buy the dvds and watch the show.

You did, when Rampage and Depthcharge fight to the death as the Nemesis is activated. Depthcharge plunges a energon shard into his spark, which was split in two to use for dinobot, that also triggered the resurgence of the original dinobot, as his new spark was freed of evil influence.

Kibble is the TF nerd lingo for all the parts of a TF figure that don't transform, hang off the bot itself, or have no where to go when it transforms into vehicle mode. So like, if Optimus has a huge truck cab hanging off his back in robot mode, that's kibble.

You want details, I'll give you details:
1.) His color is all wrong, especially for a "show-accurate" 25th anniversary figure. Takara made theirs right, why can't Hasbro?

2.) His tail weapon is overly large, awkward and weighs down his arm too much to hold up well.

3.) The sword is SMALL, ORANGE and CLEAR! ***??????????

4.) The autobot/decepticon rotating logo has large gaps around the edges, and interferes with the clean look of the front chest.

5.) There are major gaps in the arms, which are undersized to begin with.

6.) The leg and chest gimmicks to give it that "show" look do not stay in place while manipulating the figure.

7.) The overall design lacks detail. There are hardly any "skin" details in the beast mode and there are almost zero "tech" details in the bot mode. Compared with other figures from the 25th Anniversary/Universe/Classics line, this figure is under detailed.

8.) Who we gotta kill to get a Hasbro produced Golden Disk??


These are just the things that I thought of when I first opened Dinobot, transformed him 3-4 times, and then put him back in the box, dissapointed. My comparisons are with the Takara version of this same mold and the 20th Anniversary Re-issue of the original Dinobot, which is a much better mold in my opinion.

None of those things bother me in the least, and I'm willing to be they'd not bother most anyone else buying the toy. It isn't surprising to anyone (or shouldn't be), but WHY? release a 25th Anniversary figure that has an inferior paint app when we KNOW it could look better with the SAME amount of paint apps. Knowing what I know now, I still would not buy this figure with the Takara paint app, as the other details and faults take all the fun out of it for me.

The transmetals were beautiful. My favorite transformers of all time are from that line, Dragon megatron and Cryotek (the blue repaint), Tigerhawk, Cybershark and Iguanus (frilled lizard) are my faves.

The owl is cool also but I never had him.

I got the red Megatron T rex repaint (T-Wrecks is his name) at a toy show, loose for $3 a few months ago. It's a good thing I prefer to display him in beast mode because after getting home I realized his bot head was missing. Still, 3 bucks wasn't bad since I'd been wanting to track him down for a while.
