This last pic was taken on an older D100. oH how image quality has improved. Same ISO used on the first pics(with D300) and the last pic(in the D100).

They always scared me too. But last year some people at work and a couple of my friends were all talking about this one down the street from my house. So I reluctantly tried. And now it's my favorite place to eat. It's always busy and it's never made me sick, so that's a good sign.

Here you can get a taco stuffed with half frozen french fries from the taco truck.
Wether you want it or not.

Nice lens there Dan! What is it for though? Macro pics? I am still way too green on this subject but I need a macro lens, or at least one for tighter shots.

It's a standard(read "pro standard") wide angle. Like what you would use for just walking around photographing stuff around you. It's not going to make things far away look really close, but it's not so wide that it's like a fisheye.
This might help explain a little:
On the left is a cheaper lens. 18-50mm f/2.8. It cost about 300. Mostly made of metal but has some plastic construction. It's not perfectly sealed so dust can get inside the lens where it can't be cleaned out. When you zoom the lens expands.
And the one on the right , while having basically the same zoom range, has a far Superior images because of the glass the lenses are made of, is completely sealed, if all metal(which makes if far sturdier), and is just better in every aspect of the lens.

Also, who doesn't like "bigger?"

Ah ok gotcha, well I got two similar lenses so that is not what I am looking for then.

Understandable. For me it's just practical. For work I can't carry a ton of stuff, so I only keep two lenses on me. A wide angle and a telephoto(80-22 2.8)
So I lose the 55-880mm range. But like the great James Natchwey said, "If you're photos aren't good enough, you're not close enough." SO if the telephoto is too long for a shot but the wide is too wide, I'll just get close. ;)

Cool, thanks for the info. Well I got the standard DT18-70mm lens which came with the kit, a200k, and an AF75-300mm and an AF28-80mm which I bough seperately, they are both Minolta though so I could do alot better probably.
